  1. 04 postseason. Nothing's better.
  2. Yeah, what's wrong with saying that. Gonzo was great in a Boston uni, enough said. He did more than Lugo and Scutaro will do, and he's come at a time where Theo has failed to get us a good shortstop (one of his many failures). Obviously, if someone came and out-did Gonzo, I'd drop that line, but in the last few years, no one has done it. Scutaro does have ok stats, but I just see him being a Julio Lugo at the plate all over again... I just have that feeling. I have no stats to support this, it's just a bold prediction that WILL prove true. Theo tried to not improve SS at all, he tried to stabilize it, and it will backfire.
  3. Sure, our rotation ranks up as one of the best. That I cannot deny. But I can deny the fact that we do not have a true ace. This is what I want. Halladay is an ace, Sabathia is an ace, Curt Schilling ended up being an ace (in his tenure in Boston), but Josh Beckett, or even Lester (who has been better) is not an ace.
  4. Getting on base is not the same as scoring runs. We've seen Theo's OBP guys fail in the last years, which is why the 2004 team is far better. And JD Drew only gets hits if we are winning by 10 runs or losing by 10 runs. Completely useless.
  5. You're forgetting to count that JD Drew only gets hits when we are 10 runs up winning, or losing by 10 runs. That's the only time he is successful. Mike Cameron has never really been that great on offense. Personally, I'd like Matt Holliday, but Theo has failed us again.
  6. Gonzalez was a great hitter in a Red Sox uniform, and he helped offensively last year. I won't lie about that. He's not the greatest, but I never called him out as a "god" like you make it seem. Never have I done that, and you can't find that on this forum (prove me wrong if you'd like to). Gonzalez was great in a Red Sox uni, Lugo wasn't, and Scutaro will fail (that's a given). Which is why Gonzalez would have been a better option. At least I was proud of his offense last year (I agree his career numbers are bad though, as I've stated countless times). And no one said we had to trade for Hanley, I just prefer it. Better than Scutaro.
  7. Cameron's horrible. Please start Hermida and give him the benefit of the doubt. Or start Hermida over JD Drew. At least one of those guys, because neither will help this team offensively. I bet Hermida could do better. Heck, I bet Reddick could. An outfield of Reddick, Hermida and Ellsbury sounds good to me (as long as Reddick is major league ready which right now he isn't). I'm waiting for the LOLs, but I know that JD Drew and Cameron will fail, so we won't be laughing when they start and we miss the postseason because of their poor play.
  8. I'll agree with that, but the point I'm trying to make is that we need a NEW Curt Schilling. Compared to Schilling, Beckett isn't worth a shilling. Ok, I'm exaggerating (as I do a lot), but a Curt Schilling type pitcher is what we need.
  9. You find auto outs in Mike Cameron and JD Drew predictable? Now that I find funny as well. At least Reddick shows us he can hit with power.
  10. I never said that. I only said his offense was manageable. Better than Lugo's and Scutaro's. I was also a guy who wanted to trade highly for Hanley Ramirez, another thing Theo failed to do and cost us 2010.
  11. What Curt Schilling needs to do is come out of retiremnet and pitch for us. He's the reason we won in 2004 and 2007. Of course, this is silly logic, so I'll break it down. We need another horse like Schilling if we want another championship. Beckett isn't this same horse.
  12. This guy has more talent than JD Drew and Mike Cameron combined. He just needs the experience. Hopefully he's one of our starting outfielders by the year's end, but I higly doubt it.
  13. With the offense we have, we'd be lucky to get second place. The Sox will finish third in the AL East this year. Mark my word.
  14. But he went on to pitch the next series, saying he was good enough to pitch. Well, obviously he wasn't.

  16. So don't I. What's your point?
  17. We have yet to see it. No one in baseball is a as good as Roy Halladay at this time.
  18. Beckett is not an ace. Why sign the boy who cries injury? I'd only sign him if we can get him cheap. Great pitcher, but certainly not an ace. And he has a liability to get injured when the postseason comes.
  19. So far I'm wrong. It looks like Beckett's back spasms are not hurting him (as of now). I thought they could have because they happened so recently, but he looks good on the mound. Now all we can ask for is offense and that he continues to do well.
  20. Beckett is a great pitcher IF HEALTHY! And sorry for the triple post, just responding to quotes...
  21. Oh, I know that, I'm just saying after all those years of losing to the Sox they'll finally beat us this year.
