    Which could coincide with Ortiz eventually retiring. I just assume McCann would be a player lots of teams gun for so I'm not that confident than Boston can outbid them all.

    Bartolo Colon has 3 shutouts on the season. The same dude we kicked off the team like 5 years ago.

    The Yankees offense shouldn't be winning games against anyone. No matter how bad of a team they are they still seem to play us tough.

    While I agree that it's frustrating so see games where our starters do well and our offense doesn't, and the fact that Lackey has an even record despite a very good ERA, UN is right that while our offense may have cost us a few games here and there, they are not the problem for this season. Our bullpen has been injured, overused, and inconsistent. We have Beato and De La Torre getting innings at this point. And our two best starters at the beginning of the season are either injured and taking forever to get back, or just plain suck now. We perhaps can use a bat, but we don't NEED one. We NEED relievers and depending on Buchholz recovery we may NEED a starter.

    I don't think I implied Kershaw would be available. My point to SFF is that if we were going to trade Bogaerts and others, I'd rather have Kershaw than Sale. That was the only point I was trying to make.

    Even if I didn't have pitching depth I'd have traded Shields for Myers. I don't think that was a good trade for the Royals and trades like these are why the Rays have been consistently good. (Well that and picking in the top 5 of each draft for many years)

    If we were emptying the farm I feel like I'd go after Kershaw before Sale. Because with Bogaerts that would change the game as to "who's available"

    And to think that he'd have a .500 record despite (most likely) an ERA under 3. Disgusting.

    Damn it Kuroda's looking like he can go the whole game at this rate.

    It's depressing that we aren't winning this game, but Kuroda is a hell of a pitcher (talk about another age defying signing) and the game is still young. We can't honestly lose to their offense, right?

    I'm not sure about Peavy but I'd love to trade for Crain. With Bailey out (which earlier in the season would have been a good thing) I feel like I can only rely on Tazawa/Uehara/Breslow and somewhat Thornton. With Miller/Bailey/Hanrahan/Wilson/Morales out I don't feel comfortable giving Beato/Delatorre/Britton many innings.

    Odds are if the player is on the Royals, he's been mentioned by Dojji a ton.

    It's not like it cost him much so they were a couple of low risk low reward moves. I'm not too worried. And I thought Lyon was doing well towards the beginning of the year and then bombed recently.

    At least Napoli and Gomes took their 0-2 counts to 3-2 before striking out with Ortiz on 2nd and nobody out.

    I forgot what the average SS triple slash performance was but it was pretty lousy. Even for Iglesias projections.

    It looks like Neil Ramirez is the centerpiece of the package, so I'm not sure if Olt is still included. I'm crossing my fingers that he is. I guess we'll find out soon as Garza is supposed to pitch tomorrow and the Rangers really want to get the deal done before then.

    I would never dream of moving Iglesias silky smooth and sexy SS defense unless he's hitting below .200 and even then he seems to at least take a few pitches to get out.

    I'd never want to mess with the greatness that's Iglesias at SS. I'd put David Ortiz at 3B if I had to in order to prevent Iglesias from having to move.

    I wouldn't mind Garza going to the Rangers. There was talk of them including Mike Olt and at least one pitching prospect, which would be nice to see the Rangers farm team take a little hit.
