  1. I can't keep track of everything he says. He has that highest post count on the board and the most recent join date of anyone in the top 5 (by over 5 years).
  2. Jacques is Bloom's 2nd best Rule 5 Draft pick??? (Whitlock, Arauz, Ort, Jacques) They clearly didn't like what they saw with Brandon Walter the last go around!
  3. The disconnect was assuming that the Sox could go through the rest of the season with all these bullpen games and not completely wear out the pen and start churning out a lot of clunker performances. Waiting for Houck (typically doesn't pitch long into games) and Whitlock (who was just put into the bullpen anyway) to provide help to the rotation was absolutely stupid. It was the punt of all punts.
  4. I'm sure someone said that. I don't believe it was me. This morning I saw a post of mine from last winter that was basically "I don't know if Bloom will be fired if the Sox make the playoffs or not, because it all depends on what the internal expectations are with John Henry." That doesn't seem like a "make or break year" to me.
  5. That's my original point. They should have either added substantially or subtracted. They chose a worse third option that made nobody happy and didn't help the team.
  6. The past is in the past. Until the ship is steered back in the correct direction, the complaints have merit.
  7. How hot is the water? Or are we adding in some FL bacteria (flesh and or brain eating)?
  8. I could find something nice to say about every other poster on here except for that guy. He's the only real troll we have at the moment.
  9. A 2022 10th round draft pick out of Oral Roberts THAT NONE OF YOU KNEW ABOUT PRIOR TO THIS YEAR should be called up because of his k rate even though he's a RHP who barely touches 90 mph. He's not even ready for a callup to WOO let alone a callup to Fenway. I don't want to read about "unqualified individuals" when I have to keep seeing this kind of drivel posted over and over.
  10. Yes, all you need to know about a prospect is looking at a boxscore! Great job! wanking motion...
  11. @ByAndrewParker Lefty Joe Jacques has been called up from Worcester by the Red Sox, source says.
  12. I did list them. They were all noted as maybe. I'm not going to sort them into must/should/bubble as there's no way the Sox are going to retain 11 guys.
  13. Maybe Vlad Dracul needs to stand outside Fenway with a Wally boot collecting donations so that he can afford a higher payroll?
  14. They're spending almost 60M more than JH is willing to fork out, but are still only 6th in MLB in spending behind PHI, TEX, SDP, NYY, NYM.
  15. I'm saying what they should have done at this singular point in time. I'm not saying that they should continue to kick it down the road. I've already said that the Sox have to make the playoffs in 2024 no matter what.
  16. Here's the Rule 5 list: Rivaldo Avila Angel Bastardo - maybe Brock Bell Royman Blanco Brainer Bonaci - maybe Zach Bryant Maceo Campbell Allan Castro - maybe Brendan Cellucci Felix Cepeda Juan Chacon Casey Cobb Nathanael Cruz Luis De La Rosa Nick Decker Kelvin Diaz Jordan DiValerio Shane Drohan - maybe Juan Daniel Encarnación Alex Erro Albert Feliz Ryan Fernandez - maybe Ryan Fitzgerald Grant Gambrell - maybe Jhostynxon Garcia Wikelman Gonzalez - maybe Bryan Gonzalez Justin Hagenman - maybe Alexis Hernandez Gabriel Jackson Lyonell James Gilberto Jimenez Christian Koss Robert Kwiatkowski Chih-Jung Liu - maybe Eduardo Lopez Matthew Lugo Elih Marrero Yorberto Mejicano Ryan Miller Andrés Núñez Yusniel Padron-Artiles Eddinson Paulino Luis Perales - maybe Railin Perez AJ Politi Jose Ramirez Oscar Rangel Jorge Rodriguez Ronald Rosario Cesar Ruiz Johnfrank Salazar Stephen Scott - maybe Cody Scroggins Reidis Sena Chase Shugart Karson Simas Nick Sogard Noah Song Dylan Spacke Joey Stock Luis Talavera Nate Tellier Michael Valera Brian Van Belle Diego Viloria Jeremy Wu-Yelland Ryan Zeferjahn That's 11 guys they have to consider protecting and they won't put all of them on the 40 man roster. That's why there's a risk they'll lose a few guys to the Rule 5 draft. They can't stash a bunch of guys on the 40 man roster that they won't have any intention of using. They can probably stash 3-4 at most. The current 40 man includes Mata, Rafaela, Abreu and Hamilton, but they were reluctant to use any of them this season. Would they be willing to stash Castro for 2 years? If Bonaci is added, will they actually use his 40 man spot and call him up for his defense? Is Scott's defense good enough to be the 3rd catcher in this org? I could see an outside organization taking those 3 guys in Rule 5 if the Sox don't protect them.
  17. They should have ____ at the ____. But you just thought it was loser baseball. Clearly, you just wanted them to do nothing instead so that you could watch actual loser baseball!
  18. So you surrounded a very vague response with a whole bunch of nonsense. If you are making a trade that includes Yoshida, what is it and what type of starting pitcher are you bringing back. In your post you even say that his contract is too high so are the Sox going to be eating some of that $$$? How much?
  19. That dude sucks now too. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah-syndergaard/11762/stats?position=P
  20. I think a lot of assumptions were made. He'd be great on pitching. He'd bring along some Tampa guys.
  21. I don't believe you know anything about these prospects. Hoppe has a 7.88 ERA in AA. Isaac Coffey is a soft tosser that would get absolutely demolished by an early callup. Gambrell, age 25, is working himself back from injury and has already thrown more innings this season than all of his minor league career. Wikelman had a 5.14 ERA in High A this spring, but he's ready for MLB? Just two starts ago, he couldn't get out of the 3rd inning against Binghamton. Just throwing these guys into MLB games isn't going to help their development.
  22. I wouldn't really say it ended up in "biblical proportions" unless we're talking about a 50 page children's bible with illustrations.
  23. Trade a player you don't think has any value for a starting pitcher? In your world, what kind of pitcher comes back for a guy you believe is losing time to Abreu and can't field?
