  1. Duvall/Abreu RF Rafaela CF Yoshida/Refsnyder LF Verdugo is traded, Turner goes elsewhere, Duvall comes back and Yoshida gets many more DH appearances. Refsnyder might not make it through the 2024 season without being DFA'd.
  2. Duvall doesn't want to play CF going forward. Abreu can and will play CF if needed to. However, that should only be to backup Rafaela.
  3. Miscellaneous other graduated players not listed after 2017: Darwinzon Hernandez Brian Johnson Tzu Wei Lin Phillips Valdez Colten Brewer Josh Taylor Marcus Walden
  4. And Arauz isn't listed either?
  5. The book is out on Yoshida! His weakness is cross country plane rides and switching time zones!
  6. I'm lucky my wife didn't know that rule on our wedding day.
  7. They will. Take that to the bank.
  8. Every player needs to be an All Star!
  9. If it was about overall statistics, Roman Anthony wouldn't have made it out of Salem you nob.
  10. Counting stats vs advanced stats vs performance metrics vs eye test
  11. How was he a prospect? He was 30.
  12. Jacques and Ort were was a Rule 5 guys too. Whitlock wasn’t listed.
  13. I'd say 20% chance for one of them. Nola is very unlikely. Yamamoto should be the clear #1 priority, but he's probably the clear #1 priority for another 10 teams. The best Bloom will probably do is Snell and Hendricks.
  14. Well, Japan ranks #1 in most life expectancy stats and male healthy years. Maybe they are banking on him having a few extra years to go in his prime?
  15. @ByAndrewParker David Hamilton has been sent back down to Worcester and the Red Sox have activated Wilyer Abreu off Paternity leave.
  16. That's the excuse they are trotting out.
  17. Per his bbref page, he was ranked 10th by Baseball America before 1992.
  18. That's when I figured the Sox wouldn't be able to make a real run at this thing.
  19. Not a chance. It's time for the offseason thread.
  20. Are we sure he's even started by now?
  21. Maybe they aren't the greatest team of all time without Ian Kinsler? Maybe that's why they were so down bad in 2019?
  22. Once the playoffs had started, they were at home. They were no longer "defending world champions." Their season was over. If he was hired during the regular season, a case could be made (not a great one).
  23. It's an idiom due to dollars having a much higher value than donuts. HOWEVER, in today's donut economy, thanks to glazeflation in the mid 00's, donuts are now much more cost prohibitive. It would be much more meaningful to say "donuts to dollars."
  24. All those guys are getting big money this year.
