@DanSecatore
This lineup has compiled a total of 77.5 bWAR over parts of 50 cumulative seasons. That's an average of 1.5 bWAR per season. This is the lineup equivalent of Jeff Frye.
I try not to get swept up in emotion when I look at lineups, but I really bristled at this one.
Turner has not been very good in his 33 innings at 3B. Also, he had the weird in between play where he didn't make it back to 3B for the runner a few series ago.
The best alignment would be Devers at 3B and Turner at 1B.
The problem lies in the Sox terrible PR spin that we all see through. Just say "we needed the pitcher and the tweets weren't a big enough deal to us" rather than talking about understanding people's pain or whatever the f***.
Sorry, I'm disagreeing with you and Dipre on this. It's better business to sell prospects for an ace and extend than go via FA. Money has been thrown around like crazy lately and I don't really agree with the assertion that you're competing with the same amount of teams in a trade market.
The difference is that you'll be bidding along with a bunch of other teams to get that FA. In the trade market, you can get the guy at a below market deal for guys that may not ever turn into anything special and then extend that starter at a rate less than what you'd spend on Urias et al.
