  1. Not really a big surprise that Coffey struggled. At some point, a guy that throws sidearm 88-90 and is a fly ball pitcher is going to be transitioned out of the rotation. It's just not a starter's profile. Probably not really a guy who has an impact at the MLB level.
  2. 1. Duran CF 2. Verdugo RF 3. Turner DH 4. Devers 3B 5. Yoshida LF 6. Casas 1B 7. Arroyo 2B 8. McGuire C 9. K. Hernández SS
  3. @ChrisCotillo Brandon Walter is in consideration to start for the Red Sox tomorrow, sources say. So a couple guys from Triple A in consideration to make their debuts here in Minnesota. David Hamilton is here, but activation depends on the status of Pablo Reyes.
  4. All they had to do was stop pitching Pivetta and Kluber so much!
  5. Cora didn't? They kept putting Kiké out there.
  6. The only batted ball number you can kinda ignore is the maxEV as that can get generally fluky for players. His average EV is 89.8 which is relatively in line with the prior two seasons of 89.6 and 89.3. The most important thing to me is that he now has a higher LD% at 32.3 (24.9 is MLB average) which shows the improved contact.
  7. I believe dust in the wind is the medical condition for his whole skeletal structure. He's the first fully compostable MLBer.
  8. Kiké - can run the bases without being a bitch Mondesi - can't run the bases without being a bitch
  9. Bello was a 28k IFA in 2017. DD didn't handpick the guy or even see him before they signed that contract.
  10. They also blew a lot of money on Rendon and can't develop any talent otherwise because the owner wants immediate gratification on his money.
  11. Is there an MLB lineup that is Kluber-proof? When will the DFA bell toll for Corey? Was Corey Kluber the worst Opening Day starter the Sox every put out there?
  12. Gallo's wRC+ this year is higher than Dalbec's 2021. Bobby bottomed out in 2022 and I just am not impressed by watching a 28 year old mash in AAA, especially one who has a 34% k rate. Dalbec is older than Verdugo and Devers. He's not a young guy. There isn't a lot of meat on that bone.
  13. It took Cora finally taking an errant Kiké throw off the dome to push him off SS.
  14. I haven't followed Bieber this year, but his K rate is way down and his xERA/xBA/xSLG are all bad. His xFIP is 4.20. Per Statcast, his FB velo has decreased every year since 2019. Underlying injury or just trending in the wrong direction? Is he just one of those guys that can pitch with reduced velo?
  15. Enmanuel Valdez is dealing with soreness and swelling in his hand after getting jammed on a pitch in Norfolk over the weekend. He was in the lineup today but looked to be in some pain after his first AB and was removed after the second inning.
  16. They need a SS now, not a 2B? I guess that’s the reasoning.
  17. Sox have tried all season to deal him. They’ve had no takers. If they have one now, the return will be meager at best.
  18. He has a better ISO than Devers/Bichette/Adolis Garcia since May 1.
  19. 1. Verdugo LF 2. Turner DH 3. Devers 3B 4. Yoshida LF 5. Duvall CF 6. Casas 1B 7. Hernández 2B 8. Wong C 9. Reyes SS
  20. @NBCSEdgeBB Reds designate Wil Myers for assignment on Tuesday Sox can finally get this king!
  21. @brendan_camp Red Sox have promoted pitching prospect Yordanny Monegro to Low-A Salem. @IanCundall Monegro is someone to keep an eye on in Salem. He dominated the FCL this year: 15 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 20 K. He’s got a projectable frame, live arm and can run his fastball up to 96. Best secondary is his curveball, which he already shows solid feel for.
  22. Wow, dump a guy right when he starts to get hot again... Rafaela in June: 1002 OPS
  23. With Mata, it's hard to keep him around since he has to be on the MLB roster starting 4/1/24. No more options! I'd just deal him away.
  24. @SoxProspects Wuilliams Rodriguez pitching line- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K. The 17-year-old righty has a 1.29 ERA over 14 innings for the DSL Red Sox Red with 11 strikeouts to six walks. He was signed for $50,000 back in January.
