  1. Honestly, how would WE know who is on the trade market? It's not listed anywhere like the FA listing.
  2. A lot of money to spend on the IF when the strength of the farm is IF. Also, this org is moving away from K's. Who knows, maybe a new CBO moves this ship in a completely new direction and wants a 3B that K's a lot and brings in Snell to load up the bases with BB's?
  3. A 750 OPS guy. If we're looking to spend heavily on a RHB, that's not really helping. Story and Chapman would be nice defensively, but offensively you'd want a little more bang for your buck.
  4. @SoxProspects SoxProspects 2023 All-Star Team Part 1- Position Players C- Kyle Teel 1B- Blaze Jordan 2B- Nick Yorke 3B- Chase Meidroth SS- Yoeilin Cespedes OF- Roman Anthony OF- Ceddanne Rafaela OF- Wilyer Abreu @SoxProspects SoxProspects 2023 All-Star Pitchers SP- Wikelman Gonzalez SP- Isaac Coffey SP- Yordanny Monegro SP- Hunter Dobbins SP- Jedixson Paez RP- Luis Guerrero RP- Christopher Troye RP- Felix Cepeda
  5. https://www.prospects1500.com/al-east/red-sox/five-emerging-red-sox-prospects-to-watch-in-2024/ Prospects to watch for in 24: Troye, Castro, Hickey, Monegro, I. Coffey
  6. Ouija is fun for the whole family. Out now this Halloween from Parker Brothers!
  7. I would say that he was a great defender, but I take all the old defensive metrics with a huge grain of salt.
  8. What is an average player? Verdugo?
  9. "I guess you consulted your magic 8 ball today."
  10. What's the Average? It's easier for me to conceptualize what a AAAA guy is than Average.
  11. I think the "value the player" is the tone set at the top from Henry. It goes back to the Lester negotiations and has kind of been an undercurrent here except for the sexy DD years. I think Henry liked Chaim because he was a guy who set values on players and stuck to them. Overall as a strategy, it doesn't work out.
  12. Henry didn't understand the Mookie market or the Xander market IMO.
  13. I was just refuting the "empty seats" comment. Major moves won't matter if they don't win. Attendance is down to pre-2003 levels. Maybe it's just where the fanbase is? Are they burnt out? Is it a function of the rollercoaster the ownership has put us on?
  14. Duvall's defense has fallen off since '21 and is only going to get worse as he gets older.
  15. Attendance was higher in '23 than it was in '22 with all the star players they had under contract.
  16. He didn't pitch that year, but he was under team control.
  17. I'd say less than 10%
  18. He's going FA and SD should try to buy him out for 2 years. Not sure they will. He's still a 12M AAV guy to me. If Sox offered him 3/36, I would be ok with it, but as a back of the rotation guy. Pivetta has provided more fWAR over the past 3 years than Wacha.
  19. Like I said: fun to dream on.
  20. What's "significant"?
  21. Could be we just like to argue.
  22. Abreu was #2. Are we slotting them in as starting OFers? Are we giving them a chance to win the job in ST?
  23. They had the bones of a good to great rotation: Lester, Lacket, Beckett, Buchholz They added some good role players in the offseason that took on outsized importance: Napoli, Gomes, Victorino, Drew Don't think Sox can accomplish #1.
  24. I don't believe Kluber is injured. I believe he's OLD!
