  1. You won't be able to convince that one.
  2. I'm sure they are enjoying the insurance industry collapse and the horrible health care system too.
  3. Houck and someone ranked 11-15?
  4. "Got you two" is underselling what Sale was traded for. Moncada was the #1 prospect in baseball. Kopech was a top 30 prospect. If they were ranked on today's SoxProspects, Moncada would be 1 and Kopech would be 3rd or 4th. Anthony, Mayer or Teel would get the phone hung up on you for any conversation surrounding Burnes even if they were able to sign an extension beforehand.
  5. @ChrisCotillo Sources: Red Sox remain among the most aggressive on Teoscar Hernandez, who has a handful of interested teams. Angels heavily involved too. Could get a 4-year deal if bidding gets there.
  6. Brewers will need at least a return that's better than a comp pick, but my guess is they want a lot more.
  7. @tylermilliken_ According to @francysromerofr, the Red Sox remain interested in Yariel Rodriguez. Reds, Astros, Blue Jays, Pirates, and Yankees also have interest. Made some noise in the WBC after converting to starting. (7.1 IP, 2.45 ERA, 10 K, 6 BB). Tops out at 98.4.
  8. He wants to be blown away, not given a fair contract.
  9. 23 under by 7 22 over by 6 21 under by 5 20 under by 9 19 over by 38 18 over by 43
  10. 1. Full Throttle (Tom) 2. They went under the CBT to reset so that they could go back over, see #1 3. They hired a new CBO and declared that the intentions weren't playoffs but a World Series contender (Sam)
  11. How about the underrated Naoyuki Uwasawa? Rays are showing interest. Multi-year offering to Brandon Woodruff? Dumpster dive for harmony fave Chris Flexen?
  12. You know they care about public perception since they still have a picture of Xander up on FSG's website! https://fenwaysportsgroup.com/who-we-are/
  13. I'm more of a Frankie Montas guy.
  14. I think it included Verdugo though! 92 win team!
  15. Also, just going by one stat is a horrible way to determine if a team is getting better or worse. We used to have a similar argument about Renfroe and replacing the 96 RBI he had.
  16. I thought this was supposed to be a great offseason for the Sox since they had money to play with and lots of available pitchers? Are you telling me that other teams need those guys too??? What the hell?
  17. Ah, but have you heard about Edward Cabrera?
  18. Teoscar: 26 HR last year Drury: 26 HR last year O'Neill: 9 HR last year Yeah "it's possible" they could combine for 57 HR's in the same year at some point.
  19. A fire sale, before games have been played? Before Spring Training has started? Before the roster has been finalized? What has this world come to?!?!?
  20. I'm sure the Brewers are thrilled with his comments this offseason!
  21. This is the guy that is the risk of being overpaid.
  22. I wouldn't have given up? Has this FO? The rumor is that they were looking to trade Jansen. If they were bringing in Yamamoto or a top tier starter, I'd keep Jansen around. However, this is a team still on the outside looking in. At best, they are a playoff contender. If they trade a closer that had a 4.61 xFIP last season, is it the end of the world?
  23. If it wasn't for the COL, crazy insurance rates and horrible health care system then maybe?
  24. They are expiring deals on older players and could bring back a good return. I think holding onto them and getting nothing in return would be a waste. Ideally they'd trade Jansen and keep Martin until the deadline pending the state of the Red Sox in late July.
