When you look at the FA list, I have a feeling that any second SP the Sox get is going to look more and more like a 3 or 4. Flaherty had the 8th highest fWAR of the available FA's. If the Sox nab Yamamoto, it means they'll be out on Snell, Nola, Montgomery, Gray and Ohtani. That puts them into the Kyle Gibson/Jack Flaherty tier for he next pitcher.

With perfect moves, they could have been in the playoffs both years. It was most likely that the FO wasn't going to make perfect moves and that they should have had a fire sale in '22. In '23? There wasn't much left to trade except for Paxton and Turner. That's not really a fire sale.

It feels like he'll at least get the GM position. Will they hire a CBO? Do they even need a CBO? Maybe someone short term to work with Eddie for a year or two? IDK.

When a poster is saying there's a LEGION OF BLOOM supporters on this board that is bigger than anywhere else, I think it should be fair for the poster to say who they are actually referring to. Also, I've seen way more pro-Bloom fans on Twitter, some of whom were righteously pissed off when Bloom was fired. Nobody on here was mad when he was fired, but somehow this board has exclusive access to Bloom supporters? That doesn't make sense to me.

Nate on a QO is a slam dunk. If he takes it, you get him for one more year. If he doesn't, you can get a comp pick or sign a QO guy and not lose a pick.
