  1. Did he really though? He churned so many guys off the scrap heap that I'm not sure his % would be higher than some other GM.
  2. I'll send moon over to give you a paddling. Maybe you two can get it out of your systems.
  3. What I would give to Bloom: He drafted better than Ben and Dave. He built up the farm substantially. He never got absolutely washed in a trade. He did a decent job with the pen in '23 after it struggling previously.
  4. I'm not saying the strategy itself is wrong, but maybe the pics were or at least seem to be today.
  5. I only say it that way now because I don't see Blaze working out at all. The 2020 draft working relies on Yorke's success. Going overslot with Blaze didn't do anything for this farm system. Does anyone realistically see him as getting meaningful time in BOS? Blocked by Casas at 1B. Middling offensive production. Rule 5 eligible next offseason.
  6. At least all the other comments were FO related.
  7. Deservedly so! Pearce>Nunez>Kimbrel
  8. Was he your pick for the FO? If no, is there a better place for this discussion?
  9. Which specific things did he handle ok?
  10. Theo was POBO for the Cubs when first hired and had a GM under him (Hoyer).
  11. Dave was President of Baseball Operations. He had a GM underneath him.
  12. I read somewhere that Ng isn't in contention for the Sox job, but that she'll probably head to Queens.
  13. No, the size of this FO is really large compared to others. Henry just has the guys he likes and doesn't want them to leave the org. The issue is that a new CBO wants to be able to have some autonomy and they won't get that here. They'll just be a cog in the machine and blamed if it goes wrong.
  14. It's at least a double bump in positions, but much less than handing the reigns to Gabe Kapler. Breslow also said he'll only take the job if nobody is above him.
  15. No trolls left behind!
  16. The strategy is sound if it works out. The concerns at the time were that Yorke was a reach. In time, that may be the case.
  17. Julian Tavares is on line 2.
  18. @alexspeier A new name in Red Sox’ search for a baseball boss: Gabe Kapler has interviewed
  19. I didn't say that was my preference, just my prediction!
  20. In the meantime, according to a major league source, the Red Sox are still waiting to hear back on requests to speak with a couple of other candidates. Teams must obtain permission to interview potential candidates currently employed by other organizations. Additionally, there are indications that another external candidate, whose identity has not been made public, has also already interviewed with the Red Sox about the role. -Sean McAdam
  21. There is a mystery outside party that has been interviewed that remains undisclosed.
  22. President of Baseball Operations: Brian Sabean GM: Eddie Romero Jr
  23. They went below slot so that they'd have more money in the 3rd round, which is how they got Blaze Jordan. If Blaze doesn't make up the difference between Yorke and the others around him in the 1st round, it was a bad decision.
  24. He signed a DH for more than that. It wasn't a budget thing so much as he didn't know how to manage the budget.
  25. Seems like most of us would take non-save Kimbrell in a heartbeat? The bigger issue may be his 3.81 Postseason ERA, 5.49 xFIP.
