  1. Telling lies again, moon? 2023 - 32,989 AVG 2022 - 32,408 AVG
  2. It's all the crime and homelessness in Boston!
  3. They've already pivoted away from Snell and Montgomery. There have been NO rumors about Stroman, Clevinger or Lorenzen. The only guys we've heard about is Soler and YRod. That still seems like a bridge year to me.
  4. All the rumors have just been BS this offseason so we may never really know.
  5. "Realistically sign." Sox would need to dump a few contracts to do that!
  6. In his first press conference, Crag specifically shouted out Toboni as someone in the FO that he liked. Maybe he's just elevating the voices that he wants to hear?
  7. 25-26 will surely be another moving target. Can't wait to root for 2027 at some point. Giolito is about kicking the can down the road at some point and has zip to do with ratings.
  8. And that list is just judging their own players. They have often misjudged FA classes and have failed to bring in their targets. Unless saying things like "Jose Abreu is our prime target" is just a smoke screen.
  9. I think I'd rather have a beer with wacko jacko. Maybe.
  10. Cubbies over the Giants?
  11. "Once again." That has happened every offseason going back to at least Mookie Betts if not to Lester and beyond. It's just not acceptable for these SMART people.
  12. I can't even be angry about it anymore and I skipped right by the bargaining stage...
  13. 25M on a 34 year old pitcher? Red Sox can't afford that!!! They are a poor smol bean franchise!
  14. Depressing. It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul of our national will. We can see this crisis in the growing doubt of the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of unity and purpose as Red Sox Nation. The erosion of confidence in the future is threatening to destroy the social fabric of TalkSox.
  15. The majority of FA's that had 2 fWAR last season have signed elsewhere. From the guys that are left, who would the Sox realistically sign that could make this year not a bridge year? Montgomery Bellinger Snell Chapman Stroman Kershaw Belt Clevinger JD Theories about "just trade for a guy" will not be allowed due to BTV hate speech.
  16. Rumor is that another team offered Imanaga more money.
  17. Werner said it, not Henry. Werner wants to spend. Henry doesn't. Werner just doesn't have enough say.
  18. At this point, it seems like it's 99% a bridge to '25 and pray the prospects turn out. How will they construct the rotation next year? Who knows!
  19. Even if you ignore the "full throttle" portion of the quote, him saying saying "we know we have to be competitive next year" and them giving us another bridge year is embarrassing.
  20. He's been right this offseason though.
  21. From Breslow's introductory press conference: “We know that we have to be competitive next year,” said Red Sox chairman Tom Werner. “We're going to be competitive next year. You know that we're going to have to be full throttle in every possible way.” “I don’t see financial resources as a limiting factor,” said Breslow. “I think that was something that was clear in the conversations that we had. Obviously, I think we have to line up a number of variables there. Interest and fit among two of them. The refrain I will keep hammering in these conversations is that there is a relentless interest in winning from all parties.” When Bloom was fired: "We're aiming for World Series Championships. That's it. That's the aim," said Sam Kennedy.
  22. This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!
  23. This is what Carrabis deserves for believing Henry wasn't wrong for looking at his watch last year...
  24. Who would know better: the hot dog vendor in Portland or John Farrell? Hard to say!
