  1. LF Duran CF Rafaela RF Duvall Bench Abreu, Refsnyder
  2. There are a TON of options in FA so Nick Pivetta's trade value would be low. There aren't a ton of FA options in FA at OF so Verdugo's trade value could be overinflated. Sell! Sell! Sell!
  3. Yeah, I just don't see the point in adding another pitcher much worse than Bello if they really want to compete. Another guy down i the Pivetta/Houck/Crawford range just seems like a waste to me too.
  4. I think they do a decent job with MLB guys, but the MiLB guys are just complete shots in the dark. I'm not sure where they get those values from.
  5. I'd rather trade him for something now and make room for the younger OFers than lose him for nothing next offseason. I don't think Mr 1.8 fWAR Verdugo is worth holding a spot for.
  6. IDK. I think either Teel is undervalued or Yorke is overvalued because they are approximately the same player on there. I wouldn't trade Teel for some other team's Nick Yorke.
  7. He's Nick Pivetta with a higher ceiling. I guess his xFIP was pretty decent prior to last year, but I just think his peripherals are dogshit. Can you trust him to be more than a #4? That's not really what the Sox need.
  8. Rhys Hoskins and Teoscar didn't get offered a QO. What this shows me is that I highly doubt Alex Verdugo will get offered one either next season. His overall profile is similar to those two guys in value. May as well trade him.
  9. I'd trade Mayer before I'd trade Anthony or Teel.
  10. I just meant the part about moving up in the Cardinals system.
  11. Well, we don't really know what the offseason budget is. If it's 50M, then there is no "rest" for Duvall.
  12. For Merrifield, bref lists the most similar batter as Bill Mueller. As Fred Durst says, you know what time it is...
  13. Makes no sense if he was already being considered for a top position weeks after being fired.
  14. Or just sign Yamamoto and Montgomery and call it an offseason?
  15. If you only have 50M to spend from that list, does Yamamoto/Ryu/Merrifield make sense? You get a #1, a serviceable starter and fix the 2B problem while providing additional speed and a RHB.
  16. @tylermilliken_ . @TheAthletic put out their Top 40 Free Agents big board and this is who they listed as their “best fits” being the Red Sox. ⚾️ Aaron Nola (6 years, 180 MM) ⚾️ Yoshinobu Yamamoto (7 years, 203 MM) ⚾️ Cody Bellinger (6 years, 162 MM) ⚾️ Jordan Montgomery (5 years, 105 MM) ⚾️ Eduardo Rodriguez (5 years, 80 MM) ⚾️ Marcus Stroman (3 years, 63 MM) ⚾️ Tim Anderson (1 year, 14 MM) ⚾️ Hyun-Jin Ryu (1 year, 11 MM) ⚾️ Whit Merrifield (2 years, 19 MM)
  17. Per BTV, Kutter and Houck is fair value for Cease.
  18. I'd say it's 50/50 they sign one of the tippy top guys.
  19. Eovaldi opted out because he thought he was going to get a much bigger contract, which is why he initially walked away from the Sox contract, but came crawling back asking for them to offer it again.
  20. Why not just take a year off? It's not like being away from the game for a year is going to make everyone forget who you are?
  21. Dead pull hitter, but Statcast notes his 27 HR's would decrease to 22 if they were all hit at Fenway.
  22. A 26 year old who only posted 781 OPS in AAA this year and had a 33% k rate in MLB. Marlowe was SEA's 27th raked prospect last season. Not sure he's an upgrade for the uncertain options the Sox already have in the OF.
  23. Today is the first day of FA, FYI.
  24. If they offer him a QO, he takes it. No way is he getting close to 20M AAV on the open market.
  25. Bello had a 4.24 bb/9, 0.16 HR/9, 404 BABIP in 13 GS in '22. He finished his season strong, but he wouldn't have been the first young pitcher to have a sophomore slump once the book got around.
