  1. Nola wasn't an option IMO. I was just listing names that people could be upset over that the Sox didn't get, even if it wasn't the perfect fit.
  2. Was told we'd be using IFA money on pitching?!?!?!??!?!?!
  3. This analogy, but the wife doesn't cook or sleep with you either.
  4. Nola and Gray
  5. LF maybe? His 2B is adequate.
  6. Yorke blocked himself with his hitting the past two seasons: '22 668 OPS A+ '23 785 OPS AA That's not the numbers of a prospect that is tearing through MiLB. Grissom AA 924 OPS Grissom AAA 920 OPS That's the numbers of a prospect tearing through MiLB.
  7. Crawford isn't a tweener IMO. Pending health: Bello - 180 IP Giolito - 190 IP Pivetta - 170 IP Crawford - 150 IP Tweener (Houck) - 120 IP
  8. Without ownership accountability, it just makes the whole situation worse. No amount of PR is going to fix this.
  9. Only the best punts!
  10. McAdam: Other than a few informal exchanges with reporters during the 2021 postseason and a few exchanges with two reporters via email last February, Henry has not made himself available to the media in a press conference setting since February of 2020, almost four years ago.
  11. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  12. Urshela isn't going to make that in FA. The previous one was an arb contract and those can get inflated.
  13. @tylermilliken_ More from @alexspeier... doesn't look like the Red Sox have changed their stance on Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery, or a rental like Corbin Burnes. "While it hasn’t been ruled out entirely, sources continue to characterize the Sox as unlikely to make the sort of deep-end, long-term plunge needed to land lefthanders Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery, the top two free-agent starters left on the market... The Sox are open to deal-making, but there’s little sense they’ll push in the chips to land an established top-of-the-rotation starter either via trade or free agency. Further additions appear more likely to the middle or back of the rotation to improve depth and reliability."
  14. It's all the crime in Boston. It's a hellscape!
  15. Wouldn't want to misquote your hyperbole!
  16. If he might take less, why would he do so? What are the indications? It doesn't change the question.
  17. They are signing Hicks to be a starter.
  18. The Reds letting him start a few games in CF in 2019 is pretty wild. Especially since they gave up that experiment the following year.
  19. Oh, that Michael Lorenzen. He hasn't even had a hit in four years. Terrible choice to be an OFer. Nice cleats though.
  20. He backs up all IF positions. He's better than Pablo Reyes.
  21. Old DH's don't typically get multi-year deals. Duvall doesn't stay healthy. Soler isn't consistent. I think the idea of overpaying a guy on a one year deal (Teoscar) makes sense. The spend thrift Sox probably just want to pinch as many pennies as they can.
