  1. Robertson and Santos weren't really great prospects TBH. I don't think they lost much value there. I think Crag trying to acquire guys that can potentially start is important since it's an area that Bloom ignored for 4 years. Fitts and Sandlin may never work out, but they desperately need to address the lack of legitimate starting rotation guys they have. If that means trading their 5th best reliever to do so, fine.
  2. Yeah, you don't pay 280M for Xander's glove even if improved. The drop off of his offense is concerning, but we've seen his offense fluctuate from year to year due to various injury issues in the past. Maybe it's something he sorts out this year?
  3. His rankings have been all over the place, partially because he was drafted in the 11th round in '22 and came out of nowhere. Ranking him around Fitts seems to make sense. Trading their 5th best reliever for a guy who could stick as a starter is kind of necessary when the farm is bereft of rotational talent. The Greenville rotation of Perales/Sandlin/Monegro/ERC is at least interesting. He's most likely the first to be promoted to AA. Not very concerned about his High A numbers from the end of the year last year.
  4. Xander got his bag. I'm sure he's made peace with it.
  5. I'm going to drive to your house tonight to give you a wedgie.
  6. His defense was bad. It turned around to be average in the second half from what I remember of the metrics.
  7. People are dum dums. There were many of us on here who were noticing the trends in real time. Thankfully, there are truthers like Old Red who can really hold the line for their love of Casas!
  8. They said they won't make player decisions based on Netflix!
  9. @973TheFanSD Big news from Padres spring training camp. Mike Shildt says that Xander Bogaerts will go to second base, while Ha-Seong Kim will play shortstop.
  10. If Sox had any intention of being competitive, it would be a conversation. Since they are going to be well out of it apparently, it's probably just not worth the additional PR headache for them.
  11. Now that the O's are facing uncertainty in the rotation, do they make a move?
  12. And now that Mayer is starting to fall in the rankings, the return won't be as good.
  13. Thru 4/18 161 BABIP 33.9 K% 10.2 BB% After 336 BABIP 23.9 K% 14.4 BB%
  14. I'll have ChatGPT translate for me.
  15. If you go from April 19th - end of season, it's a 901 OPS for Casas. Three bad weeks.
  16. From May 1st on, Casas had a 916 OPS. His April was really dreadful and dragged down his overall numbers.
  17. The luxury tax salary is 46M.
  18. Minimum wage with a clear opportunity to start should be good enough on a one year prove it deal for him. For him to get that in Boston would be money in the bank.
  19. Yes, this is where are comments are coming from. Thank you for joining us.
  20. Or an MLB offer at least.
  21. DHern was consistently high and was never able to manage it. Slaten has brought it under control somewhat from time to time. Remember, even DHern was productive at times. I think there is a path forward for a few of these guys depending on their overall stuff. I haven't seen Slaten pitch, but there must be a reason that Crag was quick to pounce on him.
  22. Let's start naming catchers and see who peaked after 28. Tek - yes Tony Pena - no Sandy Alomar Jr - no Yadier Molina - yes David Ross - no Rich Gedman - no Russell Martin - no Salvador Perez - no Posada - yes Posey - no Mauer - no Benito Santiago - no Ivan Rodriguez - no Brian McCann - no Piazza - no Wilson Ramos - no Martin Maldonado - no Realmuto - yes Grandal - no Christian Vazquez - no
  23. Might have to give him 4 player options with escalators just in case.
  24. Then I'll finally be able to understand all the nuances of the Central, Eastern, Western and Pacific Leagues. Sad that the Northern League was destroyed by King Ghidorah.
  25. Is there a place that compiles velo data from Japan?
