  1. Defensively, he's been fine enough this year. If he plays like this, he can fake it for another 5 years or so. Wait until Casas is gone and move Devers to 1b.
  2. Yup, I'm sure there will be 5 teams that win 100+ games.
  3. It's wild to even LOOK at the standings this early.
  4. Yeah, that's why I don't know why people are getting so stuck on the rollercoaster this early. Just be happy that the pitching looks good and that the team has been more fun to watch than last year. They are probably going to be a .500 team and there may be some signs of life for the future. The Debby Downers will find all the rain clouds to complain about. Pollyannas will say that they are only a few games out of the Wild Card even though they are 40-41 or whatever. I'll just keep cashing the company's checks and posting through it.
  5. DFA the 40 man roster.
  6. It's wild to worry about standings or games back when it's not even Memorial Day yet.
  7. Weren't they on pace for 93 wins two days ago or something?
  8. He's not striking out and zero errors so far. Could be worse.
  9. Wake up babe, it's Nick Freakin' Pivetta Day! Duran CF, Wong C, O’Neill LF, Devers 3B, Grissom 2B, Cooper DH, Gonzalez 1B, Abreu RF, Rafaela SS
  10. Not a big thinker, eh?
  11. I've heard comparisons to Trot Nixon.
  12. ^ this is get off my lawn territory.
  13. It's NOT get off my lawn. I like the new players. I don't care about how they wear their uniform. I'm not bothered about their walkup music. I like when baseball is FUN! I just think it was better when the two leagues were separate and things like the All Star Game and World Series felt more special because you'd never see these players face off together otherwise.
  14. That happened long before I was born. I can't be held accountable for remembering the details of those ones. The 1987 game when the NL won in extras? The 1989 game when Bo and Boggs hit back to back jacks in the first? Pedro in 99? The embarrassment in 2002? You can hold me accountable for that era.
  15. I tried to watch the Greenville game, but it had no sound. Really brutal. Early let some runners on, but part of it is due to the shaky IF defense there. The IF defense in Salem and Portland is much better.
  16. Elon is blasting s*** off down here on the regular. I'm sure he can just add some of our personal gripes onto his schedule.
  17. If players aren't going to take it seriously, it won't matter to the fans. It mattered to the players back in the day and it mattered to the fans. Why kill something that was cool?
  18. "This time it counts? Why'd I ruin that one chump's career then?" - Pete Rose
  19. It's blast Bud Selig into the Freakin' Sun Day.
  20. And they slowly started to kill baseball by introducing interleague play and letting the All Star Game end in a tie.
  21. I hate it. I liked when things like the All Star Game and the World Series felt special because you'd never see those players face off otherwise.
  22. Let me rephrase the above as: Every day is a Freakin' For Sale Day!
  23. Ian Cundall gave a real mealy mouthed response about why Slaten jumped to 12 after saying they'd never let a reliever be higher than 20. Sometimes, their rankings are a little too volatile IMO as we've seen with Matthew Lugo.
  24. It started early and often where they had runners on and nothing happened. Runners left in scoring position, 2 out: Duran, Ja; O'Neill 2; Cooper; Devers 2; Grissom. Braves only left 1 in scoring position with 2 out.
