We always say two or three and it's always only one decent starter IF THAT. I don't have high hopes that a good outside starter is coming this offseason. I think Henry has turned the faucet to a trickle. Sox are now a midmarket team with top tier pricing.

Harder to do in season trades IMO. Once Hamilton got going a little bit, it eased some of the pressure as well. It's clear that they punted on the season once Giolito went down and didn't really make any serious moves after that. They are just waiting on internal solutions that may or may not develop.

I'd be fine with them trading Whitlock. He's not a starter going forward.

I'm not trying to justify the trade or say that I would have done the trade myself. We all knew the risks when the trade went down. We all knew what the prior few years looked like with Sale. This was the worst possible outcome for a first year GM/CBO.

Well, they also NEEDED a 2B. It was just a trade that didn't work out. High risk, high reward. We got the high risk without the reward.

The only Sox team to win a WS without a top 10 defense is the '04 team and that team had great starting pitching, great offense and the relievers became shutdown relievers in the postseason. The problem with bad defense is that it gets magnified in the postseason (hello Will Middlebrooks). The following lineup would be a good enough defense IMO: C:Wong/Teel 1B:Casas 2B/SS:Mayer/Story/Campbell/Romy 3B:Raffy OF:Duran/Rafaela/Abreu/Anthony DH:Masa

They are fine. I would never buy one. I would never buy the hat. I'm not a fan of man of the City Connects to begin with. I worry that the next variant would be something worse. Personally, I'd just bring back the red jerseys OR go with a 1975 alternate pullover jersey and hat since it will be the 50th anniversary.

I believe this would be the 4th 5 game win streak of the year. They have not had a 6 game win streak.

That team has tried to lay down every year since they hired Montoyo in 2019. Feel like they "won" a lot of trade deadlines and offseasons, but have generally underperformed expectations considering the roster.

It was just either or. To me, Kutter logs innings and is more consistent. Bello's stuff could theoretically play up in the pen.

Bello supposedly being the #1 starter going into the year and not even getting to 2 bWAR is an embarrassment. I guess his peak is 4th starter to go along with everyone else now? He's on a fairly cheap deal. Sox could consider moving him this offseason as part of a larger deal for a better arm.

Give me a 5th starter who can throw 180 innings and have a sub 4.25 ERA! I'm not sending that guy to the pen no matter how many HR's he gives up.

I actually like Fernando, so it's hard for me to compare Fitts to him. Maybe we can go with MondoDick?
