If they’re a guy who has slid in the draft and is the best player available, yes. I think drafting a SS in 21 was good and a C in 23 was good.

He threw a splitter last year about 8% of the time per statcast. It’s his least used pitch if you combine his slider and sweeper usage. Not a great pitch for him, but he should use it more and the knucklecurve less.

They do a good job of scouting MiLB and MLB players. They just always seem to get the most out of their guys. Their pitchers often get put under the knife, but they keep on competing. Sox can’t say that with a much higher payroll.

Whitlock wasn’t developed here. Houck’s first MLB appearance was 4 seasons ago!

Watching the DR game and OB is having a horrible night. Wrong about Abreu’s history, called many counts wrong. Is he usually this bad? I don’t typically pay attention to him because he’s boring AF. I don’t know why NESN folks have hitched their cart to this horse.

10th wouldn’t be a big shock to me. Mayer lost a year. Bleis lost a year. Yorke fell back. No pitching.

Betts at SS in 98 Innings in ‘23 -2 OAA -8.8 UZR/150 He’s fine at 2b, but this is a wild decision.

Roberts is not a good manager. Dodgers would be better under Cora.

It’s due to the paucity of pitching talent. A good year from guys on the farm could bump the rankings up.
