  1. Depends on how much you like Josh Naylor/Campusano and if you think the Sox could have picked out any other Padres prospects.
  2. That is what I've heard, that other GM's just didn't want to take his calls anymore.
  3. He didn't get injured in the tv altercation. It caused him to miss zero time. In fact, he was promoted to BOS directly after that start and pitched his next turn in the rotation.
  4. What? This is a completely serious argument! Unbelievable...
  5. Pythagoras believed that a team would have blowouts both for and against. This team just piles on the blowouts which distorts their Pythagorean W-L.
  6. Neither did Story. At least we saw the coaches on the field.
  7. Fitts threw a gem last night. @SoxProspects Richard Fitts is our SoxProspects Player of the Day after a stellar performance in Charlotte. The 24-year-old hurler threw 82 pitches and induced 15 swings-and-misses. He improved to 4-1 and lowered his ERA on the season to 3.72. He is currently ranked as the top pitching prospect in the organization and is in a position to make his major league debut at some point in 2024.
  8. Love the Stooges. See that cat Down on her back? She got a TV eye on me
  9. And the IFers started off the season horrendously. They only got better the further away they got from Story's misery.
  10. Last three years with the Sox games played %: Sale: 28%, 6%, 63% Story: 58%, 26%, 5% Sale clearly wanted to play more than Story who just wants to sit at home and collect a check. If you include the amount of time rehabbing in WOO, the numbers look even better for Sale.
  11. @TJStats Wilyer Abreu MLB Rookie Ranks: 6 HR (3rd) 25 R (3rd) 22 RBI (4th) 7 SB (4th) 139 wRC+ (2nd) 1.8 fWAR (1st) Wilyer is having a heckuva year.
  12. Penrod has his first WOO start today.
  13. Comparing Story to Sale is unfair to Sale. I think Sale actually wanted to play.
  14. Does one bad signing mean a guy should be fired? No. However, I believe the Sox have one of the large front offices in baseball and it's not necessarily helping the product on the field in baseball. The results we have seen so far in 2024 have been directly tied to Breslow and his overhaul of the pitching department. I think the process they are going through now should great to provide Breslow the confidence to move forward with the people he wants to keep around.
  15. I could see a case for Kavadas. Jordan is still multiple years away. Mayer and Teel are pretty marching along just fine and should be here either in September or early next year. Anthony maybe later on in 25? At least people aren't clamoring for Lugo to be called up. Didn't he used to be a 2b/SS???
  16. All I'm referring to is the fact that his stat line this year is a little unlucky, that's all. I'm not projecting anything else or talking about his defense or whatever. He hasn't been great, but the results should be marginally better. Would that result in a power surge? No idea. Xander had very low slugging numbers until his mid 20's. Maybe it'll take Vaughn a few more years? If it takes too long, he's going to be lapped by prospects currently playing in POR.
  17. It's why Theo recommended Breslow use Sportsology Group to conduct an independent audit. Time to clear out some deadwood. I can't expect Breslow to know who is underperforming on day one when Henry wants to protect all his yes men.
  18. I wasn't referring to any hippies on here as there are none.
  19. A 193 BABIP is a bit unlucky.
  20. Jhostynxon promoted to GRE today.
  21. Rafaela is too good in CF IMO.
  22. @ChrisCotillo Hearing it's possible that Enmanuel Valdez is active for the Red Sox tonight in Baltimore. That would likely require Tyler O'Neill to be placed on the IL. First pitch at 6:35 pm ET.
  23. What he had was great players around him constantly on base (400 OBPs) when he put the bat on the ball like Earle Combs, George Selkirk and Babe Ruth. He was a great player that averaged 33 HR's in that time period with guys constantly on base in front of him.
  24. RBI isn't a sustainable stat.
  25. I'm not sure if their pitching has convinced anyone since the concern was a lack of high end pitching. Perales has been ok, but we'll have to see what he looks like now that he's moved up the ladder. Fitts has been fine. Sandlin hasn't really impressed TBH. Rodriguez has pitched better this year than last. Sox really needed someone else to pop like Monegro or Bastardo. The only starters (not mentioned above) that have really been interesting this year are Early, Penrod, Encarnacion and Wehunt.
