    He's had a 619 OPS since 2021 in the Postseason, but the bigger issue has been their starting rotation, especially last season when they got bounced early.

    I was going to run some splits and gamelogs for Cooper, but FanGraphs no longer wants to run on my computer. Anyone else have this issue? Is it the ads?

    If they were good enough, it should be goal. If they are at .500 in late July, there's no reason to delude themselves as it will only hurt in future years.

    He was tightfisted BEFORE he signed Price! Are you forgetting that he lowballed Lester? Are you forgetting all the players they dumped from the 2004 lineup? How about the cameo at the end of Moneyball where he was courting Billy Beane because he wanted to solely save money?

    Getting swept in the playoffs shouldn't be a goal of this team. The 2024 Boston Red Sox cannot beat teams above .500. Why buy your way into the playoffs under a delusion?

    Why do that for a team that isn't very good right now. Put them over the hump to become an 86 win team? Whoopdeedoo... Aside from Anthony, Mayer and Teel, they don't have guys that would bring much back. Perales and Fitts have some value, but it's much lesser. Trade Guerrero, Jordan, Hickey, Yorke, Bastardo, Castro, Kavadas, Lugo, Paulino, Zeferjahn or other potential Rule 5 guys but you won't get much back. Hell, throw Wikelman in there and you aren't really moving the needle.

    If they are 2 games over .500, they shouldn't buy. I think that's about the high watermark for them. They will either be treading water or selling. My guess is that Jansen and Martin are gone pending health. O'Neilll will play out the string as he will be on the IL or have no buyers. Unsure what they will do about Pivetta. Off chance they keep him for QO? IDK.
