  1. Yeah, they've really just chosen the wrong players to spend on. First, they should have spent on Mookie. Duh. Sale, not a great investment. Story was injured when they signed him. Most other franchises valued Masa much lower and seem to be correct. Bringing JBJ back. Kluber. Extending Rafaela and Bello too early. Devers overpaid?
  2. Orioles look good now, but they went 6 straight years under .500 very recently. This just may be them reaping a great farm system as they did from 12-16. Boom bust period? From 98-11, they were under 500 every single season.
  3. Penrod promoted to AAA.
  4. Red Sox pitcher Bryan Mata will miss more time after experiencing lat soreness following his latest rehab outing for Double-A Portland on Thursday. Boston initially announced Mata’s injury as shoulder soreness, but the right-hander told reporters on Saturday the issue is primarily in his lat.
  5. If he was a Driveline guy, he would have wrecked his elbow and had 2 TJS before he even reached MLB.
  6. Babe Ruth hit homeruns off the same pitches that Bobby Dalbec is feasting on in AAA.
  7. And Pedro would drill his ass 100%.
  8. The question isn't if he'd throw a no-no, it's how many perfect games he'd toss in a single season.
  9. They used to measure Sam McDowell's fastballs vs motorcycles. High tech stuff! Let's not get into the Dalkowski nonsense either which really gives up the game...
  10. I'm obviously joking about Houck. He'd destroy Koufax in a game of one on one. Probably rock the baby and posterize Koufax.
  11. Probably wouldn't want to be on the same field as "those people" though.
  12. It's how we can send people into the sun, a fastball from 2036 that reaches escape velo. There's a 13 year old right now being trained at Driveline for this.
  13. They did say "like a rocket."
  14. Something to keep in the file just in case IMO.
  15. Fastballs can't rise. It's an impossibility. Houck with guys behind him that could legitimately play defense? He probably has an ERA under 1.50 60 years ago.
  16. The NBA back in the 50's was even more archaic. This year's Celtics would beat those teams by 50 points. I discount all NBA stats prior to the ABA merger.
  17. Fastballs can't rise. It's an impossibility. Houck with guys behind him that could legitimately play defense? He probably has an ERA under 1.50 60 years ago.
  18. Send Hugh back to 1910 and he hits 280, easy.
  19. He injured the same leg last season and was put on the IL for 2 weeks. He's had more IL days than games played so far in his career.
  20. Mayer is leading the entire minor leagues in 2B's.
  21. Willie Mays would still be an MLBer today. Frank Robinson would still be an MLBer today. Ty Cobb? It's really hard to say.
  22. I think the A's aren't very good, so probably the Reds. The integrated teams from the 70's are more modern than what the game was in the Cobb through DiMaggio days.
  23. They may be better, but I think it's ridiculous to keep assuming that the greatest players of all time are long dead and the current players are outside the top 50.
  24. @SoxProspects FCL Red Sox lineup- 5/23 1. Franklin Arias- 2B (#SP60 #22) 2. Yoeilin Cespedes- SS (#5) 3. Brooks Brannon- 1B (#46) 4. Andruw Musett- C 5. Kleyver Salazar- DH 6. Raimundo De Los Santos- CF 7. Yosander Asencio- RF 8. Karim Ayubi- LF 9. Yohander Linarez- 3B Brannon makes his MiLB debut at 1B. Musett has been raking for FCL Sox at C.
