  1. PECOTA projected the Red Sox to win 79 games last season FWIW.
  2. No, that will be what we hear next offseason. He's the Gray replacement.
  3. Even if he fields that cleanly, Stanley isn't getting over there fast enough to get the out.
  4. 90-72 One game better than last season. A winning % the franchise has only done once before in its history: 2011.
  5. I think Cora likes the lineup looking like this now, but it will change by the end of the season. I wonder if Durbin ends up sneaking into the 2 hole.
  6. We're going to find out in ST whose arm is in better condition. One of them better be able to play 3b that's for sure.
  7. Cora builds in rest days for everyone. I'd be surprised if guys over 30 are playing 160 games even with the DH. He likes giving people the mental break too.
  8. Per Cora, Rafaela and Abreu will only be in the OF when they are in the lineup this season (not 2b or DH).
  9. moon mentioned that they left him unprotected the previous year '24-'25. He was selected in the prior Rule 5 draft, returned and left unprotected again for the year '24-'25. Unprotected Dec '23 - drafted bad year/injured/returned to Sox Unprotected Dec '24 - not drafted (shouldn't have been protected as he passed through waivers during the season as I stated) decent year Protected Dec '25 traded prior to the season
  10. If one gets going, I'm in.
  11. A combination of getting back into running and being a pitching coach my daughter's fastpitch league (lots of bullpen sessions where I'm catching for 60-90 mins) has done a number on one of my knees. I will drive down to Jupiter when the Cardinals A ball team go with their Frozen Iguanas alternates. Fun little stadium and easy to get to for me. https://www.milb.com/memphis/news/palm-beach-cardinals-launch-first-alternate-identity-palm-beach-frozen-iguanas
  12. I think the rollercoaster nature of rehab and stuff not being fully back (i.e. sucking) means the player isn't fully recovered. Also, if they are in the homestretch and trying to get into the playoffs, I don't want a guy coming off IBF and working on things pitching meaningful innings. He can do that in AAA on rehab for the rest of the season by using an option year if you really have to.
  13. Roster Resource lists Joey Ortiz at SS and Hamilton at 3B. MIL also has Cooper Pratt coming up to play on the left side of the IF at some point this year. They have a bunch of guys that they need to move around, so I'm not sure they know where everyone is going to play yet. Slotting Hamilton into 3b or even SS would be bad IMO.
  14. Some of these guys may contribute eventually, but I think none of them are on the BOS roster before Memorial Day. It would be really great if Romero cut down the k rate, but I think we're through the looking glass on that one. Maybe one of Webb/Olds/Song can make a significant development leap this year.
  15. I think his stuff really wasn't nasty 2-3 years ago. I think it's really heading in that direction now. He always had that good pitch mix and knew how to use it. Now, he's added velo and it just plays at a much higher level.
  16. Should they have protected him the prior offseason in '24-'25? He was taken in the previous Rule 5 draft. He was injured, struggled, put through waivers and sent back to the Sox. If anyone really wanted him, they could have had him for free during the season. Why did they need to protect him a few months later?
  17. Sox did add him to the 40 man!
  18. MIL is also getting overly excited for the Shane Drohan experience. The guy has good stuff, but he has outsized injury issues that can't be swept under the rug.
  19. I don't remember this one TBH.
  20. Very dubious on Springer's outlook for '26. Varsho could be fine. No clue on Okamoto. Guys coming over from Japan tend to struggle the first season from what I remember.
  21. Definitely unvaluable for sure.
