  1. Red Sox were built like an AL Central team. This is their time to do it.
  2. Sox Rule 5 list: December 2026 Marvin Alcantara Nate Baez Miguel Bleis Caleb Bolden Brooks Brannon Max Carlson Isaac Coffey Luis Cohen Matt Duffy Austin Ehrlicher Freili Encarnacion Cade Feeney Max Ferguson Zach Fogell Johanfran Garcia Ronny Hernandez Nathan Hickey Jojo Ingrassia Nicholas Judice Ahbram Liendo Raudelis Martinez Tyler McDonough Hayden Mullins Trennor O'Donnell Wyatt Olds Jedixson Paez Brendan Rodgers Dalton Rogers Mikey Romero Caden Rose Denison Sanchez Noah Song Isaac Stebens Nelly Taylor Stanley Tucker Caden Vire Braiden Ward Jacob Webb Blake Wehunt Natanael Yuten Not a lot of interesting guys this year. Most of them fell off.
  3. If they trade Chapman, they need to keep Whitlock around. Doesn't make sense to deal both of them unless they are tanking for 3 years.
  4. It kind of leads to a domino effect where Masa plays everyday, there's a professional RHB at 3b and some of the other moves don't need to happen. DHam is on the roster instead of IKF. Harrison is still here or used in a trade for an upgrade elsewhere. Crochet and Anthony were relied on to have really good seasons and that didn't happen. 😔
  5. Contracts that are up by the end of '27: Gray - decent value to trade Yoshida - eat the contract and can trade Contreras - decent value to trade Chapman - decent value to trade IKF - no value Story - no value Sandoval - no value Coulombe - very little value Oviedo - little value Houck - little value
  6. Lugo last 4 starts: 7.59 ERA, 21.1 IP, 37 H, 18 K, 9 BB, 18 ER Severe storms anticipated for this evening (chance of flooding, hail, tornado). Could impact the game! 4 - 7 p.m.: Super cell thunderstorms capable of large, strong tornadoes EF2+ and large hail in central Kansas. 7 - 9 p.m.: Individual thunderstorms start to form a line still capable of tornadoes and hail but out-flow straight-line winds 60 mph may start to occur in a line from Maryville, Missouri to Topeka. 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.: A line of storms with damaging wind and brief spin-ups moves into metro.
  7. Saying the only good move was Ranger is silly. Sonny and Contreras have been great moves so far. Breslow just needed to trade Duran and add a real 3b at the very least.
  8. Maybe? I wonder what point it will be that they start selling off parts. Do they think they still have shot to stay in it because they are only X games out right now. "Well, if these guys only play to their POTENTIAL..." I heard on Section10 that if the Sox were just an average offense that they'd have the best record in the AL. Haven't been able to find the backup for that yet.
  9. Closers like him always do! There was a lot of talk about trading him last year too.
  10. Chapman's option is mutual. He may want to test the market for one final payday.
  11. Updated BA top 30: 1. Arias 2. Eyanson 3. Witherspoon 4. Gonzales 5. Bennett 6. Valera 7. Godbout 8. Soto 9. Phillips 10. Azocar 11. Delzine (SP 25) 12. Rivera 13. Samaniego 14. Holobetz 15. Uberstine 16. Romero 17. Cespedes 18. Rivas 19. Primera (SP 33) 20. Bastardo 21. Paez 22. Mullins 23. Ramos 24. G. Rodriguez 25. Heyman 26. Wehunt 27. Monegro 28. Brown 29. Finley 30. White No Yophery. I know some people on here are crazy for him.
  12. Anthony and Crochet were slam dunks. Campbell was seen as a below market deal at the time TBH. We're not happy about it now.
  13. It'd be a lot easier to deal him if he was just on an ARB contract.
  14. If he has surgery, it's 6-10 weeks. He's maybe not back until the trade deadline? Same old Story.
  15. IKF/Monasterio platoon since IKF can't hit LFP? IDK? Just give it to Monasterio fulltime? I'd probably just let Monasterio play every day.
  16. You didn't mention Monasterio once in your post so it's hard to read that into your post. 🫠
  17. Bloom was here for 2020 (no Cora), 2021 (ALCS), 2022 (bad), 2023 (fired). It was clear that ownership was tied at the hip to Cora at that point because of the WS recency bias. Once they started banking more losing seasons (2024 and start of 2026) it was easier to start to blame the coaching staff who had overstayed their welcome.
  18. And once you start getting rid of all these veterans, it probably makes it harder to bring in good FA's TBH.
  19. They should have kept him AND Bregman. Everyone on here complained that he was a diva because "he wore headphones." Give me a break. That was the worst thing the Sox came up with after kicking him out the door. Devers was right. Breslow should have done his job. He should have found a 1b OR should have communicated in ST that he needed to start working out at 1b just in case.
  20. What's the point in saying "I thought IKF would be the fill in?" He's been horrible. Sure, at one point he could have been an option, but we all have eyes and now we'd all rather him be benched or DFA'd. IKF is useless. The best option for this current group is to just move the better defender to SS. When/if Story comes back, he can either go to 2b or Siberia.
  21. Theo wasn't hired until ST after Brez was hired. I'm sure Henry asked Theo about Brez and advice on the hiring. Nobody assigning blame to Theo for the hiring though. There wasn't anyone else left to interview. It was musical chairs, except the candidates were leaving and there were just a bunch of empty chairs and Brez sitting by himself.
  22. Cespedes has cooled off. Godbout and Yophery did a lot of damage in Greensboro, which is basically a middle school field. There are a few parks in that league that hitters just launch HR's in. Be a little wary of the numbers and let it play out for a while. I'd also like to see Brannon be successful for longer than a month and a half. He has struggled for most of his career with k's and has really never gotten his feet under him. I don't care about Ferguson. Not sure Arias's timeline should be impacted by what BOS is doing. If his ceiling is as high as we think it can be, just be patient and let him get there. Capra and Ward both have very low MLB ceilings. We've seen Sogard in MLB and I think that's the type of upside they'd have there. Sox are just stuck in a holding pattern until guys with real ceilings are ready to go (Anthony) and it's going to take time.
