  1. The only difference is that they intentionally sucked to get better draft picks so that their farm could be better than if they actually fielded a real team. They also hoarded their prospects instead of trading them at the trading deadline or the offseason to make the MLB team better. They have put the farm above the MLB product. That's the difference. The teams that want to win, don't do that.
  2. If you're blaming 86 on Buckner, you don't know ball.
  3. Did the hitters in POR and WOO do good or no? What's the real issue here?
  4. It's clear that the majority of people will NOT be happy at that level.
  5. "He's exactly who we thought he was and we let him off the hook!"
  6. Bloom did a very poor job organizationally with the pitching. There were a few wins, but mostly they just treaded water by hoarding prospects. His draft strategy didn't see dividends at the MLB level for the first 4 years either since he focused early on HS players. If he grabbed college guys, there could have been an influx of talent for the big club. There was definitely a long game being played and it outlived his days here. We'll see how it eventually plays out. It just calls for A LOT of patience.
  7. Rafaela's hitting will never get to the level most people will be happy with. People need to lower their expectations.
  8. "Red Sox fans have longed to hear it..." What an iconically crappy call.
  9. The philosophy of this organization ever since they hired Bloom was to build it from the bottom up. That means any change that they make is going to take a long time to reach MLB. That's what teams with limited budgets do. It's a never ending waiting game. 🤷‍♀️
  10. Shuffling papers instead of reading our posts? These new positions are useless!!!
  11. Per Tomase: "the centerpiece of a deal for an impact starter." Your definition of bag of peanuts is much different than mine. I would deal Mayer for a top of the rotation starter without a thought. Done. Send him.
  12. I got to 24 guys that were clearly better than Houck IMO. I guess that would be the ace tier?
  13. If you're going with a 4 year window: Beni, Raffy, Xander, Betts, JBJ, Vaz, Iggy, Margot, Moncada, Kopech, Barnes, ERod, Dubon is better than Casas, Houck, Whitlock, Duran, Slaten, Bello, Crawford, Hamilton, Abreu, Yorke, Rafaela, Anthony, Mayer, Teel, Campbell It really depends on how the fab 4 stack up to young Betts/Xander/Raffy over the next 6 years.
  14. He's been in BOS since 2020, but pitched 41% of his innings last season. I'd like to see him replicate last year before I crown him an ace.
  15. Last year's money is gone. It has no impact on this season. If he has a great season in 2025, he's being paid 19M to do so.
  16. The 1/38M doesn't have the impact on CBT the way 2/38 does. I'm not obligated to care about the long game of Henry's wallet, just the year to year budget as that is what really matters. Unless there is something more important than the annual budget?
  17. MLB deserves this considering how quickly they jumped into online gambling and how it's plastered everywhere now.
  18. I'm sure his highly valued, I think the CWS would just prefer getting an arm in return rather than a SS with injury concerns.
  19. Not enough to score an impact arm IMO.
  20. They paid him for last year. He was under contract, just injured. s*** happens. 0 fWAR. Could have been worse. 2 year deal. Maybe longer.
  21. What if they were communicating via styrofoam cups and string??!?!?!??!
