  1. Opt outs with escalators?
  2. Ohtani deal plus one brisket sandwich from Buc-ee's each year.
  3. Why would the Sox want him for just one year? If he's coming, I'd want him for 3. No more, no less.
  4. They are the only ones without large MiLB commitments at the moment. I still lean towards SD.
  5. Why do we need a direct comp anyway? The market for pitching has gone up and will continue to do so. Any extension will be larger than some posters expect.
  6. Could care less about the team control. My post was clearly about comparing their injury histories and notin's statement that they were similar.
  7. I would lock up Anthony and Campbell. In order to lock up Mayer, it would have to be a cheaper deal than the other two. He's a good player, but the injury issues make me question how long I can count on him.
  8. Crochett had one injury. Glasnow has had multiple injuries. Hard to put them in the same category just yet. Glasnow's highest IP count was 134. Since he entered the league in 2016, he's only thrown 100+ innings 3 times.
  9. I don't think people are saying they WANT to pay him that much, just that they'd be willing to go that high.
  10. There's a lot of money coming off the payroll starting in 2026. I don't think any deal affects his pay for 2025.
  11. Watching him in 2023, he didn't look completely terrible. We've definitely seen worse.
  12. FA contracts have gone way up since then. He’s getting more.
  13. You are putting an offer out there that’s good enough that you don’t have to negotiate with 29 other teams.
  14. They also realize they won’t be able to extend him longterm. May as well trade him when he has value and you have a need.
  15. Belllo is a #4. Crochet is a #1. They have nothing to do with each other.
  16. Well, Casas would be swapped in a trade and alonso provides balance as a RHB.
  17. They made it to .500 last year!!! Give them a little break…
  18. Pedro was great in RBI Baseball for NES. Need to bring that bat to the current Sox team.
  19. Their roster is a mess and the corners have LHB’s at the moment. He’ll be on the Opening Day roster IMO.
  20. That's not the strategy though. They face the top of the order for the third time in the vast majority of all of their starts (Bello, Crawford, Houck, Giolito in 2023).
