  1. They have no interest in playing Masa every day, but he should be playing instead of Duran. They really hate that guy.
  2. Witherspoon for 1.5 years of Yandy Diaz? I don't like that he's terrible against 4 seamers this year. That's not a good sign for an aging player. Maybe lean towards saying yes to the trade if Crochet and Anthony will be healthy next season.
  3. Seigler has hit throughout the minors. His 293 BABIP doesn't seem unsustainable. He's only marginally outperforming his expected stats. Probably a similar profile to Brock Holt. He was just given an opportunity late and may be a league average bat for 4-5 years as a UTIL guy.
  4. Section 10 mentioned it on a recent podcast. They are the biggest Red Sox podcast, big enough to get their own themed night at Fenway.
  5. Pirates have a lot of young, exciting players that are fairly easy to point to. The Marlins??? Otto Lopez could post on here and most people wouldn't know who he was.
  6. If they DFA him, you wouldn't pay him the upcoming potential ARB raises, only what is currently on the contract. It's cutting your losses if you don't believe in him going forward.
  7. I may consider it when Anthony comes back.
  8. Sure. Someone would have to COMMUNICATE a position change to him. Just like someone will have to do to Story when he comes back in a few weeks and ruins the vibe.
  9. If you take his 0.7 reliever fWAR out, they fall to middle of the road in fWAR. Simple math really.
  10. I wouldn't keep Lindor at SS if I traded for him.
  11. He looks like the guy the Sox wanted to trade for a few years ago. I wouldn't buy into it long term.
  12. Coulombe was surprisingly a high leverage arm per FanGraphs right behind Slaten/Chapman/Whitlock. 🤷‍♂️
  13. He's 32. His speed is down. His arm strength is down. A lot of his value is tied into his defense and that is going in the wrong direction. Now that he's also struggling with the bat, his numbers will fall off the table. Being a switch hitter at Fenway (with a pull approach for a LHB) wouldn't help him either. 3 years for Lindor? Go for it. 5? It's a lot...
  14. The Marlins have a very Milwaukee-esque lineup. Their SP could be better though! The Pirates have a top 5 offense in baseball.
  15. I can write off the last year of the contract and have him sit home. Just give me 4 years of valuable production TBH. Not every middle aged SS (is he a 2b now) can do that.
  16. Not many good bats get moved at the deadline. It's not so easy to find one, especially with expanded playoffs.
  17. That doesn't necessarily make his contract worth it! The 15th SS from 22-25 only had 7.6 fWAR. That's not worth 32 AAV!
  18. I am not going to forecast what Breslow would do. I think the Red Sox internal model is fed acid hourly. Kristian Campbell: he's actually a good defender Romy/Masa platoon at DH: that should be as good as David Ortiz Jarren Duran: mvp caliber player, untradeable Mickey Gasper: he can play catcher! Driveline: have them teach every player to only pull the ball in the air and swing for the fences every time Trevor Story: actually was still good at SS! Kiké Hernandez: the greatest SS this organization has ever had!
