  1. He was a guy that I mentioned here and there in the offseason due to his framing. On an MiLB deal, at least you are bringing him in to see what he has. I heard concerns about clubhouse issues, but I didn't look into it.
  2. If there's significant discussion in the prior night's game thread, I wouldn't be opposed to leaving it open on the main page for a little while (excitement over something in particular happening or something relevant happening in that particular game). For the most part, the conversations surrounding the prior game are typically over and done with by noon the next day. In the previous incarnation of TalkSox, the game threads would get locked and sent to the gulag. At least now, they can stay open in the game thread forum for a little while. I know most posters only stick to this one forum, but there are other forums that you can click on as well!
  3. It was thought that if we put them here there'd be more traction before the game started. Previously, we wouldn't even get game threads up until just before the games began. Now, we're getting lineups posted well advance of gametime and other posts. It's just new to everyone. We'll see how it works out.
  4. His k rate was over 30% last year as well.
  5. His groundball rate is down. He's walking guys because they are no longer chasing. He really started his struggles around June of 2024 and it hasn't been better since. Some believe it's because he was overworked and not ready for a full season. Others disagree. He had an ok outing last night. We'll see if it can continue or if it was just due to the weather.
  6. No. His 30% k rate isn't cutting it right now. If you were going to say he was going to k closer to an average right, fine, but he's not.
  7. He'll pitch this weekend. They'll make a determination after his next start. He still has only maxed out at 3.1 innings. Last week, Cora called Bello "not close" after his first start.
  8. I'm spinning that rotary phone like crazy if I'm Bres...
  9. I have it down on here that you want to fire Cora and replace him with John Farrell, is that correct? 🤔
  10. Posts get put up here by Brandon day of the game and then moved to the other forum when the next one is posted.
  11. Worst of the Sox org facilities FWIW.
  12. Per Statcast, 15 swinging strikes (6 "slider", 6 4-seam, 1 cutter, 1 chg, 1 curve) out of 81 total pitches.
  13. I think Cora could just go: Duran Devers Bregman Abreu Campbell Casas Story Rafaela Narvaez That looks like your option 4 I guess.
  14. Gausman is a good pitcher for sure. Sox also do need to cut down the k's. Both can be true.
  15. Hear, hear! Let's just get one, even though this pitching matchup looks unfavorable at the moment.
  16. Is that why Casas watches so many called third strikes?
  17. People got way too excited after that STL series for sure.
  18. Last year, all the teams that were top 9 in wRC+ all had lower than average k rates.
  19. 2024: NYY 22nd k %, 1st HR BOS 3rd k %, 9th HR
  20. You also inferred that they should fire OB and Tessie, which is fair.
  21. Sox may LEAD in total k's, but they are 10th in k %.
