  1. Garcia isn't in competition with those pitching slots, just Sogard and Gasper. I think they try putting Wikelman in the pen and maybe trade or DFA him during the year. Murphy still has a lot of value, I wouldn't move on from him unless you know something I don't. Ian from SoxProspects believes they will protect Jhostynxon.
  2. He had a 117 OPS+ last season. He was just injured this year. Very similar to his 2017 year when he had the season long wrist injury that zapped his power. 6.6 fWAR for 23 and 24 at 30M AAV is breakeven. That's a Nate Eovaldi extension baby!
  3. Dobbins - Yes Garcia - Maybe Castro - No Monegro - No Blaze - No
  4. Trade Duran and Abreu for pitching. LF: Soto CF: Rafaela RF: Anthony
  5. Don't bother. Just say that "mvp, you were right" like everyone else does.
  6. The money is good, but that's definitely a cursed monkey's paw when you sign an Angels contract.
  7. This is through 2024 not when Chapman was a FA last offseason. Xander had growing pains early on in his career while Chapman didn't become an MLBer until he was 24. Sample includes a very good '24 Chapman and a very poor '24 Bogaerts. We're talking about where they were at the time of FA, not after.
  8. That third Wild Card spot is going to taste so sweet in 2026!
  9. Yup, the Sox will be going the cheaper route at C. No reason to invest at that position right now.
  10. Xander was a much more complete player than Chapman and much more consistent than Bellinger. Those two guys had a lot of warts. Snell is a rollercoaster of a pitcher. Montgomery was a career #3 who went on one hot run.
  11. I've heard a lot of negative things about Torii as a person, but nobody deserves that kind of abuse. Anyone yelling slurs needs a permanent ban. No excuses for that behavior.
  12. I believe Boras had offers on the table and held his players out as long as possible. I think teams are a little over it. Also, his FA guys were all flawed in one respect or another.
  13. It was cute when only the Cubbies fans did it. Now seemingly every fanbase does it. Dumb.
  14. Nick Pivetta? O'Neill? Other? None?
  15. Padres were just trying to sign people for their dying owner at that point. Horrible contract. Probably 100M too much.
  16. Back end starter that provides value due to his cheap cost for the next 6 years. Could be dealt this offseason because of that value.
  17. It was the celebration of that fan after the fact that really reminded me how awful Yankees fans are. If he had just knocked a foul ball away or bumped into Mookie it's whatever. Ripping a ball out of Mookie's closed glove and yanking on his arm was ridiculous. ESPN and other outlet's fawning coverage of the dude afterwards was embarrassing.
  18. Not really comparable, but still really stupid. I'm fine with anyone intentionally doing that being permanently banned from MLB games.
  19. Soto, but he's going to be almost twice the price IMO. Mookie is the value deal now!
  20. Love Devers. I'd rather Devers be on the Yankees and still have Mookie.
  21. Just the value to the franchise of having a marketable Mookie Betts takes the contract from 300 to 400M. Henry was such a dumbass for that.
