  1. Not sure it was even a PR signing as it didn't impress anyone. I think they thought he was a good deal at the time and would slide in as an easy replacement for Xander who they weren't going to re-sign. If they really thought it was a PR move, it was an even bigger swing and a miss.
  2. Right now, the hand injury is the norm until he shows he's healthy and productive again.
  3. I think it's pretty obvious that Sogard will be starting 2b and Jones will be at DH with Roman out due to the hand injury. Maybe Eaton fills in for Duran in LF, but IDK.
  4. "You see, he threw a 4 seamer and we couldn't hit it. He threw a splitter and we couldn't that either. The curveball was right out."
  5. Miller is a competitor. He just has had a rough stretch lately. He got touched by the Yankees's best hitter. Crochet and the rest of the Sox's bullpen may have been too.
  6. The theory I've heard is that it is an extra guy for the Yankees to gameplan for. 🤪
  7. Crochet hasn't pitched in months. No chance is he more reliable than Miller. No chance. If he was, we would have seen him in the regular season.
  8. If they held onto him even longer, his value would have been even lower.
  9. I'd trust Miller more than Crochet right now.
  10. They aren't moving Story off SS. It's more likely they move him off the 40 man.
  11. Swap him out with anybody else in the pen and it doesn't change the outcome. 😾
  12. He could hoard prospects like a greedy dragon and churn the bottom of the 40 man, but he did not know how to build a 26 man roster.
  13. Dodged one bullet at least.
  14. Even if Tolle pitches two more innings, they still lose. Tracy has no impact on fixing the lineup. He's stuck with it. The only change is that Jahmai Jones will DH instead of Monasterio.
  15. Injured. Multiple injuries. Not really doing any baseball activities.
  16. Some of the scouts that liked him are still in the org.
  17. He's running the Sox the way ownership wants him to. Even when they were floundering early in the season, I don't think his job was in jeopardy. They like his process. He's been better with the media stuff lately. All the rough edges come with having a guy with virtually no experience.
  18. Also, Anthony Rizzo is probably still jabberjawing about something right now. Terrible.
  19. Here, most everyone takes a permanent victory lap about every argument ever. I would never. 😎
  20. The whole presentation was garbage. I was watching on Peacock and it had issues running music that bled through the game itself. Disaster.
  21. Alonso should be the team's DH. 100%
  22. Everyone that hit last night: Roman - still injured Duran - bad Sogard - bench guy Monasterio - bench guy Story - typically IL, horrible swing decisions when healthy Durbin - can't really hit, fine enough for bottom of the order Rafaela - good glove, fine bottom third bat Abreu - streaky, on a cold stretch right now Contreras - power, but doesn't know the k zone at all, has no clue where it is Adley - fine for a catcher Just not a recipe for success this fall. I still contend: fix Roman situation (surgery or trade), move Duran, Arias to 2b, Mead to DH (or better), Elly to SS. They need to figure out who the long term guys are and make that the team. Cut bait on everyone else even if there is 1-2 years of control.
  23. Fault them for not developing guys that turn into Ben Rice. Don't fault them for not having Ben Rice.
