  1. I don't think the Twins were serious on making the trade no matter what.
  2. At this point, it makes zero sense to deal him. He's a starter for the next 5 years. Last season, he was a question mark.
  3. It is a bad trade in retrospect. My point is that he was solely focused on Ryan and couldn't get an alternate deal done. A more experienced CBO would have had other fires going. I hope he has learned from this.
  4. You guys are more worried about other posters than the team you should be rooting for. 🤷‍♂️
  5. It's one of the most historic stretches in MLB history. No team has come from 14 under .500 and ended the season more than 2 games above .500.
  6. He's not even rehabbing in games right now. Expecting him to contribute is a lot. They were saying that Sandoval was going to contribute last season too. He didn't get into games until the last few weeks!
  7. The problem with replacing Narvaez is that he's a very good defensive catcher. Wong is not a good defensive catcher. Does every position need to hit? It's more likely that you can get Narvaez's bat to come around a little bit. At that point, he's much more valuable than Wong or probably any catcher you're going to deal for.
  8. The bigger problem with Story is his approach at the plate which kills any offensive momentum that the Sox build.
  9. He'd be passable at 2b. Sox still believe in him at SS for some dumb reason.
  10. Doubt which part? Do you think he did a great job with the Joe Ryan stuff last deadline? Instead of getting players to help down the stretch, he just ended up with Dustin Maye and found himself getting jerked around by the Twins. He was unable to reach out to other teams because of his inexperience. Maybe he'll do better this year.
  11. Nimmala isn't ready to play today. They could still hold onto Neto for another year if they wanted to.
  12. IDK. He was right about Arias though, I'll give him that. This was before Arias showed any power whatsoever.
  13. I don't think the roster works with all three. At least one has to go.
  14. 5:00 is too late TBH. Breslow has shown that he hasn't been able to work under pressure like that.
  15. Trade for Adell as platoon LF/DH. Trade for Michael King as 5th Starter.
  16. 3. Can the Red Sox get another infielder? Boston surprised a good many onlookers in the industry by trading young left-hander Connelly Early for Curtis Mead amid Mead’s post-hype breakout in Washington. Mead, of course, fractured his wrist almost immediately after the swap, putting the Red Sox right back in the market for an infielder — ideally a shortstop, it seems. They’ve tried on Miami’s Otto Lopez and the Angels’ Zach Neto but been unwilling to put elite prospects like 20-year-old shortstop Franklin Arias on the block. Is there an under-the-radar target they could pursue? Will they instead cave and bite the bullet on someone like Arias or right-hander Anthony Eyanson? And, will the Sox finally subtract from their long-publicized glut of lefty-swinging outfielders? I think it's likely that if they do acquire a SS, it's someone we're not already talking about. They go out and get a guy that is a marginal upgrade who has no control and it doesn't cost very much.
  17. Doesn't every team have bench/role players? I think the Sox relied on too many of them early on and the results weren't there. We would have seen less of them if Masa was the everyday DH. I agree that I'd take them over Story and Mayer.
  18. Which of the players are the reason for keeping it running fast. If they are pulled of the line, does it cause the train to slow down? Monasterio has been killing it, but Story is going to come back. Sox have always deferred to him.
