  1. Well, he's had a string of injuries, not all connected to his wrist.
  2. If it's just going to a guy with the most WAR, just hand out a WAR award. 😎
  3. If it's the 9th inning and you still have 2 challenges, why not use your challenges? What are you waiting for?
  4. Brandon Lyon was claimed on waivers on 10/9/02 Then traded on 7/22 to the Pirates with Anastacio Martinez for Mike Gonzalez and Scott Sauerbeck Then traded on 7/30 to the Red Sox with Anastacio Martinez for Mike Gonzalez and Freddy Sanchez Why? The Pirates didn't like his elbow and wanted a redo on the trade. Lyon had been a serviceable member of the Red Sox bullpen in 2003 when Boston decided to ship him to Pittsburgh as part of the package for left-handed reliever Scott Sauerbeck on July 22. Pittsburgh, though, wasn't comfortable with the state of Lyon's elbow, disputing the trade. Nine days later, he was sent back to Boston as part of the Jeff Suppan-Freddy Sanchez trade.
  5. Also: Mike Timlin Bronson Arroyo
  6. So you are sitting him more then. My point stands.
  7. He used it more than his splitter last year. He's been working on the splitter more this offseason and may be just deciding to stick with that instead?
  8. He was a FA. Anybody could have signed him.
  9. He has thrown a change in the past, just not very often. He really uses his sweeper as the change of pace pitch.
  10. It's very fair to hedge all conversations about Mayer with his health status.
  11. It would be a record #5 AL MVP for Judge. If Cal couldn't win it last season, nobody else can. Eventually, Judge will fall off, but they'll just keep giving it to him for now.
  12. It is WOO's Opening Day. 4pm for anyone that has NESN or mlb.tv.
  13. He specifically said "% of at bats vs LHP" so that would make me believe that there would be an increase towards RHP.
  14. Ok, and if he has adjusted his work ethic, will you start to give him the benefit of the doubt?
  15. I think the idea is for this offense to look more like MIL's. MIL 2025: 97 GDP (23rd) BOS 2025: 99 GDP (21st)
  16. Durbin grounded into 10 double plays last season. Not sure I'm going to worry about that over the course of 162 games. I think OBP is more important for the 2 hole.
  17. Duran's career high OPS is 834. Not sure he's going to repeat that.
  18. Would have had to give myself warnings if I posted yesterday. 😷
  19. 2025: 140 wRC+, 2.7 fWAR, 5th Av Exit Velo in MLB, #1 Hard Hit % 2025 Offseason: WBC 920 OPS, youngest player to ever hit a HR in the semis or finals, All-WBC team, 9th in offseason jersey sales 2026 Opening Day: 3-4, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 R Seems to be going pretty good so far!
  20. Today is Opening Day for WOO! The other affiliates don't start until April.
  21. 7 batters faced 2 H 4 BB 3 ER 0.2 IP Paying him 2/8 to pitch elsewhere is fine with me.
  22. I heard that the focus this offseason was him to build muscle and work on patience at the plate. He was a 100 hitter outside the zone and a 300 hitter inside the zone. I'm hopeful, but am glad they are making him earn it.
