  1. That's why I don't know if there's a point in saying "look at what the schedule looks like up ahead." Forecasting it that way generally doesn't work out. Saying "they have to make their move now" because of the schedule later on is meaningless to me.
  2. It was because he probably had already agreed to terms on that extension...
  3. There's enough people that have flipped to being anti-Devers that I have to hold down the fort for a little while anyway. I was supportive of him getting a shot in BOS in 2017 even though a lot of people on here thought it was silly (moon in particular). He ended up rocketing up that year and then the bandwagon got a little big. The second his back turned, a lot of people were ready with their ice picks. Sad that it had to end that way. I understand that people grieve differently. Their anger went towards Devers. My anger went towards Breslow, Sam and JH. I'm ok with where things ended up. Just wish that all involved had acted like adults (Breslow, Raffy, Media, Sam, Cora) instead of what we witnessed. It's also tiring seeing the postmortem attacks that we witness every time someone leaves town. The last 15 years have been kinda gross.
  4. It may have been inevitable. However, they should have tried to massage the relationship in case they were unable to trade Devers this season and didn't make the problem even worse. If it's as bad as the Sox are now portraying it to the media (eye roll), they are lucky all this didn't get out while he was still on the team TBH.
  5. What if they went in a completely different direction and hired Skip Schumaker of UCSB, the biggest party school? He's currently an advisor to Chris Young in TEX... 👀
  6. 28th is KC. 29th and 30th aren't listed because LOL A's and LOL Rays screw it up by moving to AAA stadiums. Play around with the table HERE
  7. Breslow is safe in his job for another 2.5 seasons most likely. Maybe JH gives him another year to show the rest of the league some goodwill that he wants to keep his CBO around before yanking him out his chair.
  8. Could open the door to other ivy-leaguers like Will Venable or Brad Ausmus?
  9. Sometimes you have to just ignore the really crazy stuff. Roman, Campbell, Dobbins, Duran, Harrison, Sandlin for Judge, Jazz
  10. It's more likely they trade Bleis than protect him.
  11. The Real Deal? I don't think this board could handle the second coming.
  12. Like how Bonzo once said "Mr Gorbachev, tear down that wall," Craig Breslow MEND THAT FENCE!
  13. Bloom - waffled, but ultimately refused to trade Sale knowing that he still had a vintage season or two left in him Breslow - decisively traded Sale for uber prospect Vaughn Grissom Which one wilted in this scenario?
  14. With his deal, he'll be back before the end of the year. At the latest, it'll be August 1.
  15. They wanted him on the team regardless of how he played in ST. Seemed obvious that (a) Roman was playing well and should have been promoted, (b) Marcello was playing well but hadn't played any AAA so it made sense to have him start there for a little while and (c ) Campbell was playing poorly and may need a few more weeks in AAA even though he looked great in AAA in '24.
  16. Eldridge is a horror at 1b. He's probably a LF/DH long term.
  17. There aren't enough hitters on that team to make you pay to throw him any strikes that Devers can do damage with. I think Gio will know how to do it. Dobbins I'm not sure on. Bello may be in big trouble against him.
  18. SF is death for power hitters on either side of the plate, unless they are on the cream or clear. This is just for LHB though.
  19. According to Devers's Statcast: Expected Career HR's at Fenway 203 Expected Career HR's at PacBell/At&t/Oracle/ETC 201 SF won't be great for him, but it wasn't all that hot for him in BOS either (career 223 HR).
  20. It seems to not be going well then! 🥺
  21. The one thing that is certain, no matter what feed you put on, it's going to be brutal to listen to. The mute button will be my friend.
  22. I'm not sure Grissom is the best option for anything going forward. I was hopeful that he'd turn it around, but it's not happening.
