  1. This just isn't true at all.
  2. Devers weighs the same as Xander. If he didn't have a round baby face, no one would question his weight.
  3. Cheese isn't required, but the best relievers typically have it.
  4. Doug Jones would get lit up today.
  5. Of the top 10 closers last year (most saves), only 1 had a FB less than 93.5 (Boxberger) and he had a negative fWAR. Cheese isn't required, but the best relievers typically have it.
  6. Just because I quoted you, doesn't mean I was disagreeing with you.
  7. I could only go by the most recent sample...
  8. He has average 3b speed. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboard?year=2018&position=5&team=&min=150
  9. Devers had a 2.2 DsR. Devers is faster than any of there 1b's, C's, 2b's and JD. The only utility guy faster than Devers is Nunez.
  10. Do this the day Harper and Machado are both signed. Just get it over with once you know the price point.
  11. Why reset now when there's a "cliff" coming? May as well just reset then since there's "no way" we can resign Xander AND Mookie.
  12. -15.5 dWAR isn't great. 2nd worst was -7.5 for Solarte. IMO, he'll be fine. Just gotta take your lumps for the first few years.
  13. RIP The 1989 Stottlemyre Bowman card that had him and his kids on it was legit.
  14. This is great news. I was worried he'd get non-tendered.
  15. LOLOLOLOL Just like how Machado and Harper are "on the market" for them this year. Hal ain't paying those guys to play 3b you goober.
  16. The last year he did any relieving he had a x7.37 FIP and a 9.00 BB/9. Duh.
  17. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/red-sox-trey-ball-getting-new-life-as-two-way-prospect/c-302678414?tcid=tw_article_302678414 It's been discussed before, but it seems like Trey Ball will still pitch here and there. He hasn't completely given up pitching.
  18. I'm just not a believer in Mata. I hope I'm wrong. It would be nice to develop some starters for once.
  19. Are you volunteering?
  20. Hal Steinbrenner is the GOAT. I love how much money he pockets and doesn't put into MLB payroll.
  21. He'd be a terrible closer.
  22. FWIW, back to back to back TO BACK
  23. If it didn't work once, never do it again, I guess? Hansen also played in the bigs the year he was drafted. They are taking more time with Feltman. He's only a #10 prospect because he'll never be more than a bullpen arm. The other guys ahead of him have the potential to be starters. Prospect rankings really ding the worth of a reliever.
  24. To me, Chatham is basically Deven Marrero part 2. He's a guy who will make the majors for his defense, but bounce around for a while. He just doesn't have a huge upside of some of the other prospects who may never make the bigs.
  25. I posted elsewhere, but I believe this list is pretty solid. I would be tempted to move Dalbec up, but overall this list is really good. Groome is projected too high elsewhere. I'd be inclined to move Feltman up too. My top 10 today: Casas Hernandez Chavis Flores Dalbec Decker Houck Feltman Groome Lakins Mata would be 11th and some combination of Reyes/Danny Diaz/Howlett/Chatham to round out top 15.
