  1. Holt isn’t much better than JD in right. JD likes playing OF so keep him happy. Better arm too.
  2. @alexspeier Dombrowski: ‘We improved our club in a lot of other different directions...We felt the other areas were more significant for us.’
  3. This pen isn't as good as 2004?
  4. If he reverted to 2017, it would be best for all parties.
  5. Yup. That's just how analytics work.
  6. Tough to cut Vazquez since you'd have to pay out his contract for 3 more years.
  7. Well, he averages a home run once every 3.8 innings so just pull him at 3.74 innings.
  8. If only they did that for home runs amirite.
  9. The weight listed last year seems improbable to me.
  10. The only baseball players he knows are Big Papi, Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts. When we were on vacation, we swung by a baseball card store (they still exist) and grabbed a few Mookie cards for him.
  11. That curve has looked good to you this year?
  12. Everyone's kid should learn to throw lefty growing up.
  13. May as well just waive him at that point.
  14. Pom's problem isn't the velocity. The FB velo is dipping, but so are the rest of his pitches. If they were all converging to the same speed, it'd be an issue. His problem is that his curveball has been an absolute mess (-10 runs above average). It used to be one of his trademark pitches, but it's just not working right now as he can no longer locate it and is leaving it up in the zone. He's never generated much swing and miss on that pitch, so when he leaves it up it's getting hammered. The BABIP on his fastball is only 211, for his curveball it's 469. The sinker that he throws isn't great and generates a lot of fly balls so it isn't good enough for him to be a two pitch pitcher. He needs to figure out that curve. If he can't, he becomes a DFA candidate IMO.
  15. That contract is just so undermarket tho.
  16. Vaz also had just been kinda underwhelming behind the plate this year.
  17. He better since he's a bat first C.
  18. Some of us just show our age. It's more surprising now that 2 AL West teams had 100+ wins that year.
  19. Nobody would want that salary right now.
  20. Sox have said they don't care about losing the 10 slots because they'll be at the end of the 1st round anyway.
  21. I thought the record was 116?
  22. Phantom DL until the rosters expand.
  23. Weird season for Bryce. Good OBP and ISO, bad BABIP.
  24. Pomeranz vs Arrieta
  25. Yes, he's better than 656 OPS in AAA Brandon Phillips.
