  1. Sale gets a lot of flack on here from Yankees fans about not being an October guy. Why are they ignoring Severino's postseason numbers?!?!?!?!?
  2. Some people on here have a -SOHAR. Sad!
  3. Guys, this really happened. Maybe your brains are so broken by this event that you can't recall it?
  4. Sox nearly doubled the amount of runs the Yanks had in the ALDS and won the WS. I would posit that they were definitely other worldly better than the Yanks last year.
  5. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
  6. Every stat is special to me. They all are useful when I need to pick and chose backup for another dumb argument on here.
  7. And the Sox have handedly won the division the past 3 years. That hasn't prevented you from thinking the Yankees have some sort of chance.
  8. WAR is now listed on the back of Topps baseball cards you old fart.
  9. @ByChrisMason Dustin Pedroia took groundballs in a full World Series uniform the other day.
  10. As it has been said before, WAR isn't the end all be all. It's not some all encompassing stat.
  11. Top 3 WAR in 2018 was Merrifield, Altuve and Lowrie. Lowrie has an up and down career and won't have a WAR above 4 this year. I think Merrifield will play more like 2017, still good but not great. Altuve is better than Pedroia for sure. When Pedroia has a resurgent season, the Sox fans are going to hammer that vote in the ballot box. Will he start the game? Not sure. Will he be on the field at some point, most definitely.
  12. @alexspeier Dombrowski on Sale’s present/future: ‘He’s healthy. He’s cleared to be in a normal spring training. ... he’s a guy we’d like to be in the organization.’
  13. @alexspeier Dombrowski on replacing Kimbrel: ‘It’s not easily done. He is, to me, a future HOF reliever.’ But mentions opportunities that will exist for internal options, mentioning Barnes, Brasier, Kimbrel, and Wright. Dombrowski says Thornburg is healthy, and has been very good in the past
  14. @alexspeier Dombrowski: ‘I still believe that pitching the ninth inning is different from pitching the other innings.’ Says Barnes, Brasier clearly have the stuff to close but ‘time will tell’ whether they are comfortable in the ninth.
  15. Pedroia is going to be ready and he'll be in the All Star game.
  16. Big if true!
  17. This is how I feel.
  18. I think just under 80 wins. I'm not a fan of that rotation.
  19. @alexspeier Cora: ‘Just being around today, I’m very excited... I’ve been saying all winter, to do th s thing, we have to turn the page.
  20. Pete Abraham Chris Sale back on the mound. #RedSox #SpringTraining
  21. Harper - Nats Machado - Phillies Keuchel - who cares Kimbrel - BOS
  22. It doesn't matter to me. JBJ is fine in CF for the Sox. I have no interest in moving on from him. My point has always been that he's a little bit overrated, but he's perfectly fine for CF here. I think he'll be much easier to re-sign than other posters who've stated that he could be a 20MAAV guy. I just don't see that. I wish his bat was a little better, but he's fine hitting 8th or 9th. In the past, people have posted as to whether or not he should be traded. I believe you either trade him when he's molten hot and hope to get the most you can out of him or just keep him around and enjoy the defense. I'm not really convinced the return you would get would match his value. Until you have a replacement in AAA, you keep him around. He's not the greatest CFer I've ever seen, but he's definitely the best Sox CFer I've ever seen.
  23. RIP famous Red Soxer Frank Robinson.
