  1. Son of Jay Bell taken in 7th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-brock-bell-with-seventh.html Throws hard. Just transitioned to P full time after having TJS. Will Danton taken in the 8th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-wil-dalton-with-their.html Had a great Sophmore season and absolutely feasted on SEC pitching, but fell last year. He changed is batting stance and it didn't work. Maybe Sox can fix him. Cody Scroggins selected in the 9th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-cody-scroggins-with.html Often injured and had elbow soreness in April. Has already had TJS. Stephen Scott selected in the 10th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-stephen-scott-with-their.html Can play almost every position on the field (1b, 2b, OF, C). Finished college career with two straight seasons with OPS above 1.000 at Vandy. @IanCundall Through ten rounds, the #RedSox have taken nine junior college/college players and one high school player. They’ve taken five hitters & five pitchers (four RHP and one LHP). This somewhat mirrors what they did last year when they took two HS players followed by eight college guys Like last year, the Red Sox didn’t draft a HS pitcher in the first 10 rounds. Prior to these two drafts, they had taken at least one HS arm in the first 10 rounds every year since 2004. Last year they took their first in the 29th rd; interested to see when/if it happens tomorrow.
  2. In tater news: Gorkys had 2 (7 for the year) De La Guerra had another 1 (2nd in two games) Curletta (probably in honor of Asche going on the IL) Wren (5th HR with 14 SB's so far) Bryan Gonzalez's OPS fell like a rock as he only went 2 for 6 (2.055) Elio Prado went off having protection from hitting in front of Gonzalez 3 for 5, one tater, 6 RsBI
  3. Maybe only using WAR for any argument isn't the way to go?
  4. My fantasy team needs him to come around any day now.
  5. Would love to have Travis Shaw at 3b for the 2019 Sox! What a great player! Numbers are off the charts.
  6. CamCan and Lugo will. They said so on the podcast.
  7. Dalbec's k's always look like that.
  8. pitching wins don't matter.
  9. I should have bolded the "a lot" and made the font as big as possible. He's been a little lucky, but the bad defense is a real big reason his BABIP is so high.
  10. Sixth-round #MLBDraft Pick for the Red Sox is Chris Murphy, a junior LHP from @USDbaseball. The 6-1, 175 southpaw struck out 87 and only allowed 44 hits in 64.1 innings, though he walked 43.
  11. 6 (197): @RedSox select University of San Diego (CA) P Chris Murphy.
  12. He hits the ball hard and should have a higher BABIP due to his speed, but the worse defense in MiLB is helping his batting average a lot.
  13. What a surprise that the "not PC" guy is the snowflake. Who woulda thunk it? Calling a post stupid is far from a personal attack.
  14. He had a better xFIP last year than this year. Expect regression at some point.
  15. Fenway seems close to capacity no matter what.
  16. But you're posting it in the "A Realistic View at 2019 Part I" thread?
  17. When did Trey Ball ever have good trade value though?
  18. Apparently, Jaxx has a good arm to go with that power, just needs to refine his work behind the dish (1b/COF profile down the road?).
  19. https://kuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=15525 Jaxx hit 6 taters in his first 6 games this year. Legit power?
  20. 5 (167): @RedSox select Kansas (KS) C Jaxx Groshans. https://www.mlb.com/video/2019-draft-jaxx-groshans-c?t=mlb-draft
  21. Super duper doubtful since the Sox are currently hovering around .500. Duran would be a guy to be included in an offseason package. I don't think there's any shot of trading him since the futures of Mookie and JBJ are cloudy at best.
  22. Realistically, he won't be helping the team in 2019.
  23. Song is a Golden Spikes Finalist and had a 1.44 ERA with 161 Ks in 94 IP.
