    He is NOT decent at 3b. They moved him off the position because he's a statue with bad footwork. Chavis just sells out for power. He has it in droves, but many people have questioned what his numbers would look like once the book got out on him. I wasn't alone on an island in this aspect. It was even mentioned by Eck and Remy on various broadcasts.

    Yup. His power to LF is what stood out back when I followed him in AA.

    @SoxNotes Rafael Devers had 3 RBI in his first 24 games (through Apr. 23). In 36 games since then, his 35 RBI rank T-1st in the AL. Devers leads the AL with 52 hits since Apr. 25. In 35 games in that time, he has hit .344 with 9 HR, 33 RBI, and a .995 OPS.

    Agreed. Holt will still get AB's because he's the team's utility knife. Chavis should still be able to find time at 2b and 1b for a while.

    Yeah, I don't think Dalbec ever plays for BOS. He hasn't made the progress this year I was hoping to see.

    Some players do pay attention to the media (Pedroia, Price, JBJ) as we have discussed before. Even Foulke had to rant about Johnny from Burger King at one point. I think it matters to players more than you are letting on.

    You're not allowed to make your own opinions on this site. You need to make arguments about other people's opinions and then go on tangents for two pages. That's how this system works. You must be new here?

    I'd never say that "no pressure" exists in any other market. I'm sure there is pressure even in a dump like Tampa (Tampa is nice, the park is a dump). I just think players are under a bigger microscope here. In Milwaukee, the fans are just happy to be there when they get to the playoffs. In Boston, we're only happy for parades. It's different.

    Duran's baserunning is still unrefined. He could get by on his physical attributes in A ball. He'll have to adjust going forward.

    Basing a pitcher's effectiveness solely on wins is dumb. Basing a fielder's effectiveness soley on errors is dumb. People just REALLY overstated how bad his defense was. He was young and busting his ass at the position. It was so obvious it was going to get better.

    You said he was a strong candidate for ROY before Vladimir Jr came up. I was just pointing out that Chavis' numbers are still better at this point, so it's not like Vlad's promotion automatically excluded Chavis from the ROY conversation.
