  1. That's what I've been saying for quite some time.
  2. At the beginning they didn't have Roman in the lineup.
  3. And 29 teams either didn't want to offer him a contract or go longer than 3 years. 🤔 Chris Davis was a monster at 29 and unplayable by 32. Maybe a lot of teams are projecting massive regression?
  4. Not a chance.
  5. The risk is he's just a DH and regresses to '24 Josh Bell. It really doesn't move the needle at all and is just an injury replacement for Casas until he's ready.
  6. Says a lot then that he jumped at an offer that was the same as Schwarber's, but 1M more per year. Orioles outbid themselves it seems.
  7. Breslow's crumbs last season were pretty good.
  8. Two big bats? If they bring back Bregman, it's the same roster.
  9. There were only two offers, so it was obviously the lowest one. Mets declined to offer.
  10. Corey Seager wasn't close to being on my top 5 all time Rangers.
  11. Why would they be booking tax depreciation on their financial books? It's two different depreciation numbers.
  12. Otis Nixon - 2.5 fWAR as a 34 year old and then never had another season above 1 fWAR
  13. 3.7 fWAR after age 33. How did you scrape this list???
  14. If Alonso was Plan A, the Sox would have signed him.
  15. He didn't have enough years to qualify TBH. He was only there for 3 years.
  16. Welcome to TalkSox! I think they'll probably sign Breggie and try to trade for an additional RHB. Maybe grab a cheaper FA RHB like Hoskins if the trade market falls through.
  17. Sounds about right!
  18. It was for dramatic effect like Hubie Halloween isn't a documentary.
  19. Seager +100M for Perales Sandlin Romero Bleis Cespedes Johanfran Monegro Yophery
  20. I was at the first game he pitched for the Sox and it ruled when he came in. Almost made up for Houck giving up three bombs.
  21. Because they are the Mets?
  22. I did a search on here and there was one user that was pumping him up big time too and accounts for about half of the Chris Carter mentions. Most of the other users talked about how he was horrible defensively and should only be DH if Papi was injured. They thought he had more of a chance as a bench bat once he transitioned to OF. He was a pretty horrible OFer too. I completely forgot about that guy.
  23. I don't remember anyone on here wanting Chris Carter. He was already seen as AAAA prior to coming to the org I think. PTBNL for Wily Mo Pena. Papi's problem was starting slow every season: 08: Apr 644 OPS 09: Apr 623 OPS, May 520 OPS 10: Apr 524 OPS He was back to normal afterwards.
  24. Riemer was a poor man's Chase Meidroth. I had hoped that he would follow a similar path and have a quick rise through the org, but he just never hit all that well. High OBP due to the bb's, but pathetic SLG and contact rate could have been a bit better. For a guy that is destined to be 2b only, it's easy to move on from.
