    Perales has 163 CAREER innings. He has 9 innings above A+ ball. He has no track record. He is running out of time. If they put him in the rotation, what are the realistic expectations for him? He's going to build up to 3/4 innings by June? Any setbacks and the year is thrown into complete chaos. He needs to be fast tracked to BOS because he probably needs to be on the BOS active roster next season unless given an extra option year. The only way to do that is as a reliever. AAA vs MLB aren't comparable. You can see where his stuff is at, but the competition is not the same. You won't see how his stuff will play at the next level (compare Tolle's AAA and MLB numbers in '25).

    So is it likely the Red Sox will trade Duran? If the Red Sox can put together a package that includes Duran that will land them an elite starter -- someone who could pitch near the front of the rotation in a postseason series -- I believe it is very likely. However, given Duran’s talent, the Red Sox aren’t just going to trade him to make it easier for Cora to divvy up the playing time in the outfield. It will have to be the right deal for Boston to move on from Duran. Not sure you can say both things in the conclusion Ian.

    No, just let him start all year in AAA and then have no idea what he can do for you next season when he's forced onto the 26 man roster. Makes sense.

    I could see Bello going. He's hit his ceiling here. We've seen flashes, but he just doesn't put it together. He's worth his contract, but Breslow wants someone he can trust in the postseason.

    Also why I think Breslow would trade Perales, but maybe isn't getting the GM's to bite.

    I'm just glad they keep adding catchers because that's one of the areas I was concerned about organizationally.

    We've seen the Sox force these guys into the rotation before and we'll see it again. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do.

    Full deal: Garcia Travieso (SP #19) for Oviedo Samiengo (pitcher on the 40 man) Guzman (defensive catcher with pull power) To make room for both 40 man adds, Criswell was DFA'd.
