  1. Hell no.
  2. Letting Duran go, actively makes your offense worse. Who cares about the 7M savings?
  3. Don't worry, they won't.
  4. I would be surprised if the Sox would want to beat the reported Rays package of Baz (3 years) and Pepiot (3 years).
  5. Lefthanded pitchers that look like they could work a farmyard.
  6. Perales has 1.5 options (maybe earns a second year, maybe not). Bennett has 3. Perales: 161 IP since '21 Bennett: 138 IP since '23 Both missed a full season due to TJS, but Perales has had a TON of injury issues since his DSL days.
  7. They rushed him to MLB last season due to need and then he got injured (again). It's a roll of the dice with him. I'm just not as convinced on Marte as most other posters.
  8. They do a really bad job with prospects.
  9. Weird trade. At first I thought it was to save a 40 man spot for like kind prospects, but Bennett is on the 40 man. Maybe Bennett is more likely to be a starter in Breslow's opinion? IDK. He knows what he wants for the pitching org. The former Sox guys in the Nats org are probably happy to snag Perales.
  10. Suarez would do ok in Fenway. It's not going to move the needle and I don't want him at 3b.
  11. 3 years of Marte at 2b and 2 years of declining Marte at 1b for 6 years of Mayer and 5 years of Harrison. Maybe? IDK.
  12. The problem is that he's acknowledged that continued losing is bad for business, ultimately affecting his bottom line.
  13. King isn't worth the 2nd and 5th round picks they'd lose to sign him.
  14. He's ok... I'd rather have Rhys Hoskins in BOS TBH. Less money so they can spend elsewhere and the dude is a dead pull hitter.
  15. KC is the bench bat.
  16. Contreras 18M (CBT hit resets at trade), Donovan 5.5M (ARB projection), Breggie 30M??? Puts them over the 2nd threshold per https://soxprospects.com/payroll.htm Would need to trade full value of Sandoval (doable) and half of Hicks (maybe) to get under. Would have no money to sign anyone to be under 264M.
  17. The Brewers improved upon Priester. They do a good job with their pitching development too. He was fine here and the Sox could have used him. That trade isn't a complete bust, it's just a little unique for a team that is trying to get into the playoffs.
  18. Do we want to be a playoff team or do we want to just have the #1 farm? Breslow got them into the playoffs. Bloom did that by using DD's roster. Breslow did that by promoting prospects from the farm and bringing in new players. Bloom: 3 out of 4 seasons below .500 Breslow 0 out of 2 seasons below .500 To me, it feels like there is an upwards trajectory.
  19. Quinn Priester for Yophery Rodriguez #38 John Holobetz #18 Marcus Phillips #12 I disagree that the trade was for "nothing."
