  1. One of the positions that is up for grabs is backup C. Thaiss is a good blocker who doesn't chase and will take a walk or two. Not super exciting, but his upwards mobility clause may get him added and Wong optioned.
  2. It was why he was on he Opening Day roster to begin with and why Roman/Mayer were in AAA.
  3. Big physical presence right now. I wouldn't have him as a top 100 guy until he really does more on the field though. I think he COULD be part of the next big 4 and someone the org COULD build around. He just needs to adjust that GB rate and stay athletic enough to keep an OF position.
  4. The extension was 5 games into his career.
  5. I thought it was a racist truck stop?
  6. Oh fffffffffffffffffff. Whoooosh.
  7. Sometimes I wonder why I went into accounting instead of finance.
  8. Not into Leave It To Beaver jokes?
  9. Castro might not have the prospect status he once did, but he continues to climb up the ladder. In ST, he hasn't looked overmatched against legit MLB pitching. I don't know if he'll be an MLB starter, but I think he'll get to MLB with his toolset. Maybe not here. Some team could use him.
  10. I think we're sad about the 100 games before that bleeding into this season.
  11. Wow, no mention of how great Masa (WBC GOAT, how come Sox can't put him in LF) is hitting?!?!?!?
  12. The feds have a stake in shielding a rich and powerful business like MLB.
  13. He'll earn his contract over the next 5 seasons. After that, it'll just be PR. They may have phantom IL him each season.
  14. It'd have to be 3 for 4 with a HR. Even then, he'd still be behind a lot of people. The numbers are what they are. It's his second straight slow spring. His career ST OPS is below 600. He hasn't been the same guy since '24.
  15. Having to talk about this six years later is demoralizing.
  16. How is the Sox offer more lucrative? The PV value of the Dodgers offer is higher. The cash was far higher.
  17. Leadoff hitter Kristian Campbell as the second lowest average and OPS of the starting lineup (lowest is #8 Sogard). He struggled last spring as well. Not really making a strong push for anything but an extended AAA stay.
  18. Also, Ward now has 14 SB's. Second place has 6.
