  1. It's just going to be sad when the Mariner's have the playoffs within their grasp, but blow it over the course of a 10 game homestand at the end of the year.
  2. And now for something completely different: @PortlandSeaDogs Jay Groome is on the move to join the @WooSox! Groome was 3-4 with a 3.52 ERA with the Sea Dogs this season and struck out 81 hitters in 76.2 innings.
  3. I'm not usually a fan of their interviews, but this one was pretty good. I wish they had asked about Yorke.
  4. see above
  5. IDK. I think it's just going to be a repeat of the 2021 moves.
  6. Yes, sir. He has been shutdown.
  7. Yes, in the longer version that I listened to he went on to talk about how they were "raised in Boston" and know what it takes to play in Boston unlike other guys that come from outside of Boston. He wants both Bogey and Devers, but believes Devers is a generational talent.
  8. “100 percent, when I see Devers, it’s like I never left (the game). … He looks invincible out there. … Devers might be one of the top-three pure hitters in the game right now. I hope the Red Sox make sense of the decision they need to make with him…We’ve got to keep him. He’s the face of the organization. I know what I’m going to get from those guys. They are the best players that can represent the Red Sox. We need to lock them in.”
  9. @PeteAbe David Ortiz on a pre-Hall Induction Zoom: “We gotta keep Devers.”
  10. K% 2021 35.7 in 112 PA His 2022 k rate in AAA looks an awful lot like his 2021 AAA k rate. IDK. At the very least, the 176 wRC+ is an abberation. He's not going to be a 13.5% k rate hitter. Maybe he can sustain the 25% rate going forward in MLB?
  11. Considering the length of Kiké's stay, the next 40 man roster move could just be Kiké to the 60 day IL rather than a DFA.
  12. @BeyondtheMnstr Ceddanne Rafaela is “OK” after getting hit in the hand and the X-rays came back negative. He is listed as day-to-day but expects to play in Futures Game on Saturday.
  13. Jarren Duran last 10 games: .143 AVG 411 OPS 13 wRC+ 36.8 K% Previous 12 games: .354 AVG 987 OPS 176 wRC+ 13.5 K% Seems like the book is getting around on him again, maybe?
  14. Only if the uniform has a lot of grey or other dark colors on it.
  15. Maybe. His ERA, SLG, WHIP, et al suffer as a SP though. It's not a pretty picture even when you include shorter opener stints.
  16. Maybe not as exciting as getting #4 last year, but Sox pick 24th on Sunday night and then do have the re-do for Jud Fabian from last year early in the 2nd round that begins on Monday.
  17. Also of note, Koss started in CF last night for the first time. Here's video of him fielding better than Duran: https://twitter.com/PortlandSeaDogs/status/1547362448629534730
  18. 126 tOPS+ as SP not good 83 tOPS+ as RP Even going back to the minors, he's been a guy who has switched between starting and relieving. He's not been good as a starter though. 7 QS in 25 GS.
  19. That is a season record for Greenville.
  20. Can we NOT go down this road again? Thank you. Address all your concerns directly to the Canadian government.
  21. @tylermilliken_ Interesting nugget about Matt Strahm from @Ken_Rosenthal’s latest piece. Strahm will be transitioning to a starter after this season as he enters free agency.
  22. Kiké has had a set back. No timetable for return.
  23. Sale - let it run its course for better or worse Eovaldi - same as above Pivetta - need to see what he has next time out before I jump off the Tobin Winckowki - I think he's up for good in some capacity and would prefer him over Hill as a starter. Crawford - 5th starter at best anyway? Not currently injured, so that's a plus. Hill is supposedly throwing a bullpen today. Wacha has a bullpen on Saturday.
  24. I'd feel more confident about a WC run if Eovaldi's FIP looked like 2021.
  25. I think all options should always be on the table. If someone came knocking and had a great offer for one of those guys, Bloom should deal. I'm not sure that will happen though. My gut says they will be in Sox unis at the end of the year.
