  1. 85th Hard Hit 85th Sprint Speed 79th Avg Exit Velo 82nd Barrel % He's still getting putting hitting the ball well... 5th Whiff% 12th OAA 4th K% when he's actually making contact.
  2. From outside the org? Stewart and Davis aren't great options. Mieses to see if his bat provides some sort of spark? Fitzgerald isn't hitting like April and can't play in Toronto.
  3. I'm not sure we see German this soon. More likely it's Kelly or Bazardo. Diekman and Valdez are easy DFA's IMO. Nothing to lose there. At least Sawamura and Brasier look ok as 7th/8th relievers.
  4. Also, we just like talking about this stuff because that bullpen is just underwhelming AF.
  5. That has never been MLB's trajectory, or for any professional sport. They don't cater to families. It's all about corporations and high dollar seats. Make up the losses with the high end product.
  6. There's just no way... is there?
  7. "An option going forward" as in 2023 and beyond. I think he's with the Sox through the end of this season no matter what. Better to have him try to hit out of funks like this. It's the only way he'll learn.
  8. With the injuries piling up, there is less of a reason to getting rid of guys. However, I think you can move on from Brasier and Sawamura and not really worry about it. They aren't long term high leverage options. You can get similar pitchers every offseason. They are the definition of fungible. I want guys like Ort, Kelly and Bazardo to get a shot.
  9. @HowieLongShort 70% of MLB clubs (21/30) have experienced an attendance decline this season and attendance at a league level is down 6%. Former Mets/Pirates exec Lou DePaoli says a 6% decline “equates to roughly 8 million less people going to games. That is concerning.” Expect more ticket increases to make up the shortfall.
  10. Unless you're at a baseball powerhouse where you're already slotted into a certain role and they don't want you to be a two way player. I would assume that most of the best SS prospects at least pitched a little in HS.
  11. If he hasn't turned it around by then, he's not an option going forward anyway.
  12. He only pitches low leverage innings. His statcast is ugly. I don't care about Old School thinking.
  13. I just don't think the scrutiny is why he is struggling. I think it's how he is being pitched to.
  14. Right there with Durbin Feltman.
  15. They went: P SS P P P P C P Not sure if they will all sign (Brand). Some of the guys are clearly under slot guys (Hoppe, Bolden). Rounds 11-20 happen today.
  16. With HS guys, there always is a wide variance between what they are and what they can become.
  17. All 3 are probably now in Sox top 20 per SoxProspects.
  18. That too. Living in FL, my first reaction is to the person the school is named after. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjory_Stoneman_Douglas
  19. He is a lefty though. Some teams just need a lefty that k's guys and will take a chance if there's minimal risk.
  20. Sox believe Mikey Romero will develop power. Per Speier: plus hit tool and they believe he can be an above-avg to plus middle infielder with average power. Part of the reason for their selection of him above where mocks had him was late-emerging power in pre-draft workouts
  21. Bloom thought it looked good at one point. His eyes were bigger than his stomach.
  22. Nick Pivetta since July 1: 13.50 ERA 13.1 IP 20 ER 23 H 7 BB 13 K 22 GSv2
  23. Anthony Rizzo alma mater.
  24. The slow stretch seemed to come from the bats and relievers to me. Winckowski and Crawford seemed fine. Bello struggled for sure. Not sure you see Seabold again, sorry moon.
  25. Just get someone to eat his contract.
