  1. https://twitter.com/mromo32/status/1548851175855837184 @Marcelo_Mayer10 Lets go Mikey!!!! Lets get to work brother!! @mromo32 My brother !! LETS GOOOO
  2. Unlike 2021, lots of injuries which will cause them to fade down the stretch most likely. Tough decisions over the next two weeks. Easy to blame the AAA guys, but I don't think that's where to point the fingers right now.
  3. Yup, if Cordero isn't hitting, there's no point in having him platoon 1B.
  4. Dalbec has struggled off and on for almost 2 years now. We know what he is. Durran has far less time in MLB. He needs more experience before we paint him in broad strokes.
  5. His xSLG is 503, highest of his career. His xISO is a higher percentile than it's ever been before. I'm not sure increasing his OPPO by 1.5% is affecting that all that much. If you look at his statcast breakdowns, he's handling FB really well, but struggling with breaking and offspeed pitchings. Looks like there is a huge discrepancy between SLG and xSLG for breaking pitches. Maybe that comes around?
  6. They didn't non-tender JBJ in 2020, they won't non-tender Verdugo in 2023. The non-tender stuff is overblown. I'm not going to pay attention to it anymore.
  7. Are they losing because of the AAA rotation? That's not the feeling I'm getting.
  8. MLB draft is such a crap shoot, I can't really worry too much about the national rankings. You just gotta go with what your scouts are telling you.
  9. Below average arm, probably moves to 2b. The 2nd rounders feature 2 guys with huge power potential.
  10. Diekman Valdez Brasier Sawamura Plawecki Arroyo Those are 6 easy cuts. Unfortunately, they are going to play out the string it looks like. I'd give some more run to guys like Ort, Kelly and Bazardo. Need to see if there's anything there.
  11. I'm not so sure about the scrutiny. Cora has stated that he'll be available for the next trip to TOR.
  12. Ward pitched another 3 scoreless innings at Greenville. Wonder when they will call him up to Portland. Has 19k, 11 IP, 0 ER during his rehab in Greenville.
  13. Red Sox 1st Round: Mikey Romero Have seen him listed as "Marcelo Mayer lite." He's a HS SS from CA, but is likely to move to 2B. Good hit tool, LHB, below average power. Red Sox 2nd Round: Cutter Coffey Generally much lower ranked nationally. Two way player that was announced as a SS, HS/CA. Strong arm means he probably moves to 3B or OF. Good raw power, but questionable hit tool. Roman Anthony HS that currently plays CF. Sox believe he can stick there, but scouts think corner OF. HUGE power. Hit 450' shot with wood bat at Coors in HS AS game last year. 3rd - 10th round happens later today.
  14. He went 3rd overall. Rangers were able to draft Leiter AND Rocker.
  15. No, now he gets to have two highlights: ALCS MVP and this.
  16. (Scene) MVP and Michael Caine flying a helicopter over Fenway Caine: Lovely day. MVP: I can't hear anything you're saying. Caine: You need to turn the headset on you nincompoop. MVP: I can't hear anything you're saying. It's too loud. Caine: s***, is that Joey Gallo? Is he wearing a tam? MVP: Woah, is that Joey Gallo? Why is Lorraine Gary holding a harpoon gun? Oh god, no... My son's official Jaws rankings are 1>2>4>3
  17. He seems like an Orix Buffaloes kinda guy to me.
  18. Like Jaws 4? I'm not sure I can get into a Caribbean version of Joey Gallo.
  19. He knows what the fans really want.
  20. Yes, at the time you can make the argument for how it could have made sense (I disagree with it though). I'm really questioning whether they can really bring him back for 2023. I think they just have to let him go. Eat the $8M buyout and have him go away rather than pay him $12M to be a negative fWAR guy for the third straight year.
  21. I don't think many teams can boast AAA rosters complete with clear MLB starters for the following season.
  22. He wasn't medicore before signing the contract. He fell off the cliff after signing it though.
  23. In order for Cordero to be an MLB caliber 4th OFer, he needs at least one carrying tool. What is it? Defense? No. Hit tool? No. Power? Not in game anyway. Speed? No. What's the tool? We know that Cordero can't hit above 700 OPS in MLB. We can't say that yet about Granberg.
