  1. They were right. That's why MLB made larger bases. Nice try though.
  2. Nor is it this year, as it is only June.
  3. Straight payroll matters too.
  4. This team sure would look good with a healthy Abreu and Casas right now IMO. Still need a righty, run-producing bat.
  5. And the ballad of David Hamilton continues.
  6. We're talking about curses in 2024 bruh? Then again, we might be afflicted with the curse of the reptilian owner.
  7. Sale for Grissom is still an incomplete grade for me. I don't trust Sale's health. Otherwise, they don't have big moves to even grade. They've done basically nothing of note.
  8. Then again, they don't have to invest heavily, that's what pisses me off the most. The pitching is performing well, once Casas and your favorite player, Masataka Yoshida return, an impact RH bat at pretty much any position, and they can set this team to sink or swim. They don't need to absorb a massive amount of money.
  9. The problem is the uncertainty. We really don't know what their plan actually is.
  10. Oh no, I know they suck right now. It just pisses me off even more when they waste good pitching performances.
  11. Casas and Yoshida are not enough. Health is also an issue for this team. Its main RH power threat is Tyler O, who's liable to be interned in the DL at any given time. I believe with this pitching baseline (never though I would be typing these words in 20 f***ing 24), this team can make the playoffs with an impact RH batter, but I doubt they get him.
  12. This team is actively harming my mental health.
  13. Pitchers will keep getting injured left and right. They are pressured to maximize velocity, movement and spin rates at a level that the human body can't handle. They don't care about timing or cleaning up mechanics in general, just velocity and spin rates.
  14. This team is making my ulcers worse.
  15. I meant I have more faith in Sale staying healthy than Story. He's snakebitten.
  16. I have more faith in Sale.
  17. Neither did Michael Kopech
  18. No, but that wasn't the point anyone was trying to make. Just a reminder of something to watch out for. I mean, it's a valid discussion IMO.
  19. Then they can trade him down the line. Right now he's cheap, young and filling a need. Why would you trade him now?
  20. That's not the point. We're making a factual statement here. Sale is an inverted W pitcher, as presented by some pitching "gurus" way back when he was a prospect. Inverted W mechanics are usually the precursor of eventual TJS surgery. If anything, Sale stayed healthy way longer than what the "experts" predicted.
  21. With good reason ultimately.
  22. I'll bite. I've always been weary of Sale's mechanics, and with the velocity he's shown this season and his overall durability, I just don't see it lasting. I've been keeping a very close eye on the elbow injury epidemic, and Sale seems like a prime candidate to re-screw up his flexor tendon/ucl/elbow. We'll see.
  23. But they're usually mighty productive into at least their early 30's.
  24. I'll look it up tomorrow. Someone has for sure done this research.
