  1. But a significant number of them correlates positively with a poor W-L record.
  2. MLBTR's Sep. 27 analysis on free agent SP On my watch list I have Flaherty, Fried and Severino.
  3. Kennedy blew enough smoke up everyone's ass yesterday to increase worldwide CO2 emissions by 33%
  4. Good point. They're still throwing 4 seamers right around a third of the time.
  5. You were supposed to bring balance to the force, not destroy it
  6. I mean, it-s clearly a tongue-in=cheek comment. The point is they need to adjust their pitch selection.
  7. Read an article on The Athletic that posits that a lot of the regression has to do with younger starters having trouble repeating their delivery as their innings build up, but the big one is other teams telling their hitters to sit slider, as the sox don-t throw 4-seamers. Coaching needs to adjust.
  8. Chris Sale is no longer on the Red Sox. You don't have to mention his season in every goddamn post. Jesus Christ.
  9. Losing the first game of pretty much every series this team has played this season has also not been very good for their overall record.
  10. If they don't, don't expect a playoff berth next season unless the farm provides multiple arms, which isn't likely to happen.
  11. Counting with too many starters with no experience over the threshold of 120 IP in an MLB season was bound to see wear-down on the rotation. But overall, the pitch selection experiment has been a good one and bodes well for the future......if they can get some actual MLB level pitchers.
  12. Yes, the inclusion director. My bad.
  13. He has died at the age of 60, per mlb.com
  14. Well I guess whining about the whiners is my way of coping. So whatever, I'll just take a vacation from the site until this dies down.
  15. Sox need pitching depth in general and a (maybe two) RHH, that's pretty clear, if they want to avoid their yearly August swoon.
  16. No one thought this team would be even in the hunt, honestly.
  17. Exactly like whining, which is the point I've been trying to make.
  18. That's actually how they're supposed to work. If they beat the Rockies and the teams closest to us lose 2 out of 3 or get swept, they'll go way back up.
  19. You do know the BP had been very good up to now, and it's missing two of its main pieces? BP issues weren't even in the radar as a clear need for this team in the offseason. You do love your revisionist history.
  20. This isn't whining, these are facts, and a logical thought proces, not "Breslow sucks and they gave up before the season began" type s***.
  21. I am pretty tall and fat. I wouldn't be able to get on a small horse without crushing it. The way I see it, pointing out how much it sucks when they lose, and what could improve the team is one thing. Being an insufferable whiner is another. Not saying that's you, just in general.
