  1. 2024 SLG%: 455. We're talking about a bat-first player who can't do anything except hit.
  2. The problem wasn't signing Kluber, the problem was not signing other pitchers.
  3. I like Vlad Jr. but don't understand the hard-on for him. He has conditioning issues, and his power has all but evaporated, probably with that being a factor.
  4. You are looking at a rainbow-colored subject with black and white glasses. That is not how things work, at all. The "easiest" trade capital are good, projectable players. It's not an issue of position.
  5. I kept telling y'all to wait on Duran. Now I'm telling y'all to wait on Grissom. Mark my words.
  6. Anyone even remotely interested in the Red Sox owes it to themselves to read The Athletics' Writeup on the Red Sox 2024 draft.
  7. Did Mayer advise you to invest in Crypto in 2021?
  8. I'd say the opposite, as pitching is so volatile. I'd rather a true impact position player.
  9. "might have helped". Cool.
  10. Depends how much prospect capital they're willing to spend.
  11. You're arguing something entirely different. We've been talking about guys like Mark Canha and pítchers like Elfin. We're not talking high-level expenditures, just a general limit at least at the cap.
  12. Pitchability is fine, in the right context. Velocity is not everything.
  13. "Past couple of seasons" meaning '22 and '23, when he neither sold not bought.
  14. I think the Henry issue with money's a bit overblown at this point. Bloom's problem the past couple deadlines had more to do with his own indecision than aversion to spending money, if everything that has come out about him from outside parties is to be believed.
  15. Maybe Turner's bat would be revitalized returning to Fenway.
  16. What do you base this on?
  17. I'm not "made" at you. I'm not an italian mob boss. I just like Mayer better than you do, and understand as well as you do, that prospect development is an art and not a science. A lefty hitting prospect having platoon splits and trouble with secondary pitches is not uncommon, and their ability to overcome those issues to an extent is why they are in the minors. He's slow at SS because of size, but he has good overall athleticism and arm. In terms of importance to the system, I'd go Teel-Mayer-Anthony, mostly because of positional value.
  18. So you're saying a very young player still honing his craft in the minors has a platoon split and isn't yet handling offspeed at an MLB level? Oh the humanity......
  19. I like that. Aces. But I think Joseph Churches is more accurate.
  20. Yoshida-san dedicates that homerun to his biggest fans, Bellhorn04 and Old Red.
  21. Wily Mo was never the same after he broke his hamate bone.
  22. Not over that sample.
  23. ? So they should have wanted Duran, out best player this year, to be traded?
  24. Wong is not a reverse-split guy. Why does this continue to be an argument?
