  1. I think Steve Phillips is universally hated.
  2. I witnessed his best years and actually saw a gem of his in person. That goatee he sported was so goddamn ugly.
  3. Accurate. Should have never got rid of Bernard Berrian. He's a much better 1st option than Hester. As it stands, Hester is our #1 receiver. Although you could argue Forte is really the #1. Olsen and Clark are solid tight ends. They still need 2 more receivers IMO. Kilo is right about the defense. The secondary got torched last year and singlehandedly lost games for us. Tommie Harris came on strong at the end, but had a down year for most of the season. Mark Anderson was a non-factor. Urlacher looked extremely vulnerable up the middle. It's an aging defense, and it's only getting older.
  4. Holy s***, Pace too? Angelo just earned his paycheck.
  5. Most exciting move the Bears have made in my 23 years on this Earth. I thought for sure they were going to be outbid by about 4 teams. f*** YEAH!
  6. Yeah, Rollins is definitely first round material. Not worthy of the first or second pick, though.
  7. It would be nice if Ellsbury got on base more, but he does get himself into scoring position. If he can get his OBP up to or beyond .350, I'd stick with him in the leadoff spot.
  8. I would say the keys to the Yanks rotation are Burnett and Joba. If you get 50 combined starts from them you should be in good shape.
  9. Kawakami was a good pickup. I had both him and Headley on my Watch List.
  10. The Red Sox don't have a clear advantage over the Yankees and the Rays in terms of starting pitching, but they don't have a clear disadvantage either. It's going to be three horse race all year. However, the Rays have already shot themselves in the foot by sending Price down. Smart for the future perhaps, could be disastrous for the present.
  11. Yeah, Piniella announced it today. Good thing I picked him up.
  12. Would've been nice to have Marmol close. Damn you, Lou Piniella!
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yVLoJjEJrE
  14. Just looked him up on Wik. Apparently, as a sophomore or a freshman (not clear) in high school last year he hit close to .600. This kid can rake. It also says as a freshman he hit a 570 foot home run. Don't know if I believe that.
  15. Favre has become a parody of himself.
  16. Eh, I trust Kenny Williams' judgment. If he doesn't think it's worthwhile to deal with the Boras circus, so be it.
  17. I think some scout said right now he's better than A.J. Burnett. That's probably hyperbole, but if that's true that kind of blows my mind. Phenoms like Strasburg are fascinating. I only hope he doesn't blow his arm out. That and the Yankees don't get him. :thumbdown
  18. I wasn't trying to be inflammatory or racist. Gibson just never occurred to me. Take it easy.
  19. Wow, you're giving a lot of teams way too much credit.
  20. He did say that, and I don't really understand it to be perfectly honest. If he wants to be remembered as a great pitcher, he needs to compete against the best in the world. And they're all over here. Playing in Japan will give him a footnote in the annals of baseball - if he's lucky.
  21. No, not surprising at all. But it begs the question: who is the best offensive catcher of all time, now that Piazza is disqualified? (Rodriguez is also disqualified because we all know he juiced as well) Cochrane Berra Bench Fisk Carter (just for shits and giggles)
  22. Jeter may not even be average at ss anymore. The move is inevitable. How he reacts to it is unpredictable.
