DiMaggio had a tremendous season, but it's really not even close. Williams got jobbed. But Hell, they put Phil Rizzuto in the HoF. Phil Rizzuto! The David Eckstein of his day.

Eh, I'd be happy to have him back if I were an M's fan. If he's not going to go to a contending team, then the Mariners are the logical choice. Play one more year. Call it a career. They lost 101 games last year. No matter what they do, they'll still be bad.

I agree that he deserved to go. But to say that he did nothing but bring negative attention to the franchise is a tad misleading. Hard to argue with winning two rings. And hard to say they would have won without him.

:thumbdown Most guys. Babe Ruth isn't "most guys." I'm sorry, but this is retarded. Ruth wouldn't dominate like he did in his day, but you can't tell me with a straight face that Jerry Hairston Jr. is more talented than Babe Ruth. Mickey Mantle didn't take care of himself. Dick Allen didn't take care of himself. Guess they're obsolete as well. For Christ's sake, look at David Wells or C.C. Sabathia or Cecil Fielder.
