  1. Goddamn, first Span. Now Weaver. Those were the two guys I wanted this round.
  2. f***. I wanted Span. Damn good leadoff hitter.
  3. Ordinarily, Buerhle would have been a good pick, but he may want to retire after 2011. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/02/mark-buehrle-ma.html Hawpe was a solid pick. And I think he is capable of .300, 30, and 100. Dukes is a gamble because of his off-the-field problems, but there's no denying his raw ability. Howie Kendrick has never played 100 games in a season.
  4. If I'm a betting man, my money is on the Wings. However, the Blackhawks are hot and well-rested. Still, I'd go with the Wings in 6 or 7.
  5. Sweet. Thanks.
  6. Yeah, that was also my assessment of the pick. Tommy Hanson is supposed to be can't-miss, but I think Jacko picked him too early as well.
  7. Whoa, I'm loving the rapid fire picks today.
  8. Wrigley, U.S. Cellular, Fenway, Old Yankee Stadium, Old Busch Stadium, County Stadium, Miller Park, Comerica, PNC Park, Dolphin Stadium I'm also planning a short road trip this summer to see Kauffman Stadium and New Busch Stadium or Progressive Field and Great American Ball Park. I haven't decided yet.
  9. The Red Wings have their number this season. But they're hot right now. If they can stay hot, anything can happen. And yes, the goal song is awesome.
  10. Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. For instance, someone picked Jorge Cantu to be his 3B. But Cantu doesn't play 3B anymore. Because he was awful.
  11. Name that Molina! I took Yadier because he's arguably the best defensive catcher in the game, and he's starting to come around with the bat. I can live with the 95 OPS+ he had last year. And he's only 26. In fantasy, a catcher has very little value. In real life, a good catcher is essential. Especially if he can frame pitches... Not a sexy pick, but a practical one IMO.
  12. Yadier Molina
  13. I seem to recall Jacko saying Phil Hughes is a future Cy Young winner. Better grab him, Jacko!
  14. Soria is a hella good pick. Young, dominant, consistent. One of the best to ever come from Rule 5.
  15. Don't have to tell you guys that shortstop is not a very deep position. Felt like I had to take Escobar. And with Davis gone, it wasn't much of a decision. I'll have to think long and hard about my next pick, though.
  16. Yunel Escobar
  17. Noooooo! Not Chris Davis! Damn you! Damn you to Hell!
  18. I'm looking forward to my next few picks. I'm just wondering if I can afford to wait on some guys in later rounds. Wish I was a mind reader.
  19. Yeah, I would say balance is key. Kazmir is better than Danks? Debatable. Kazmir might be better than your 3rd starter, though.
  20. I saw you take him, too. I'm a little surprised that Crespo took another pitcher in this spot.
  21. The only problem with Napoli is he's never played 100 games in a season. Mostly because of Jeff Mathis, but maybe there are other reasons we're not privy to.
  22. Ethier is a fine pick. Was definitely on my board. If last year's Maholm is the real Maholm, then he is also a good pick. Could be another Joe Saunders, in which case you might be in trouble.
  23. Just got back from the White Sox game. Buehrle was fun to watch. Took a perfect game into the 7th. Had an 0-2 count when he gave up the hit. But it was exciting as hell. The only thing that irked me about it was he never got a standing ovation because f***ing Ozzie didn't put him back out there for the 9th. If you're worried about his goddamn pitch count, let him record 1 out and then take him out so the crowd can give him his due! Was that too much to ask for, Ozzie?
