  1. Kind of sad how they had to dismantle their team. Their only real strength now is their rotation, and it looks like they may trade Garza.
  2. Serious man crush on Rose. I honestly can't remember the last time we beat the Lakers.
  3. Youk or Gonzalez. Either one would work. I'd probably have Gonzalez bat cleanup because he has the most power on the team. Crawford bats third in a bad lineup, not in a good lineup.
  4. He's 32 and has bounced around from one organization to another. I don't see him getting a starting gig. He wouldn't cost much to re-sign.
  5. As a cheap in-house option, don't forget Darnell McDonald can also hit lefties.
  6. Ortiz and Crawford are the only guys I would worry about against LHP. Everyone else can hold their own.
  7. After the Sox win a game, they moon the other team.
  8. That would be a horrible trade for the Sox. Beltran's days are numbered. He may even be damaged goods. If you're going to trade those players (who are all young) for an OF, go after Upton. Like everyone else, I'm psyched the Sox got Crawford but not so psyched about the contract. Exciting player. This really took me by surprise.
  9. Cubs sign Carlos Pena to 1 year deal worth $10 million. White Sox re-sign Konerko for 3 years at $37.5 million.
  10. What happens if you miscalculate and you go over the cap? Throws a wrench into the whole thing. I'd rather just draft based on talent and not have to crunch any numbers. I also don't want to compromise. If I want Player A and he's available, it's going to be kind of a buzzkill to have to settle for Player F because of a self-imposed salary cap.
  11. I'm down. Don't know if I like the salary cap part, though. Requires too much math.
  12. Shaun Marcum traded to the Brewers for 2008 first-rounder Brett Lawrie.
  13. Boozer looks good, and the Bulls look a lot more comfortable now with him in the rotation.
  14. Beckham is overrated. And they have a very weak farm system, so it's not like the two other prospects were blue-chippers.
  15. LOL Nice haul Arizona. Leads me to believe it wouldn't be so difficult to get Upton as well...
  16. Heyman is usually accurate. We had no reason to think he was wrong. If the deal had fallen through, throwing Theo under the bus would have been justified.
  17. Time to give Lowrie a chance. Let's see if he can hold it down. If not, there's always Scutaro.
  18. Can't really blame anyone for getting on Theo yesterday. There were a lot of reports saying the deal fell through. Being disappointed and upset is a natural reaction. No one should eat crow.
  19. Upton via trade.
  20. Possibly. I'm working under the assumption that deal falls through. I'd much rather have AGon than Upton, but we'll see how it plays out.
  21. Now that Werth is off the table, trading for Upton sounds like a sensible idea to me.
