  1. Thanks. I knew there were plenty of good left-handed hitters still available, but it seemed to me that the really good right-handed hitters were starting to become scarce.
  2. David Wright - 3B ($10 Million)
  3. Give me a sec guys. Still thinking it over.
  4. WB is definitely a Sox fan.
  5. Yeah, I don't really see a grand plan here. Cashman was banking on getting Lee and Pettitte coming back for another year. I don't think he ever really considered the possibility of not signing Lee. Like I said before, the Yankees should have signed Webb. Would Webb have been a gamble? Absolutely. But when you look at the state of the rotation, it's a gamble that would have been worth taking.
  6. Haha, ditto. I want to know who this mystery player is. You can safely tell us, as we won't be picking ahead of you. I have a couple of theories...
  7. Thanks guys. You too, Y228. Wainwright and Lee is a scary 1-2 punch. Figured I'd better get myself an ace while the gettin' was still good. Didn't think there would be any aces left by the time my turn came up again.
  8. Jon Lester - SP (3.75 million)
  9. No, pretty sure it's 110 million.
  10. For 1 million, the price is most definitely right for David Price. Miggy doesn't come cheap, but you know what you're going to get every season from him.
  11. It's got to be someone you're either overvaluing or whose salary is around 20 mill.
  12. I was torn on Hanley. After Tulo and him, SS gets pretty thin. Still, the defensive metrics aren't so kind to him. A good pick, though. His "down" year in 2010 would be phenomenal for most players. If he had still been around for my 2nd pick, I would have grabbed him.
  13. Team Leaders: Games Played: Gonzalez (157) Hits: Pedroia (188) Runs: Crawford (116) Stolen Bases: Ellsbury (58) Doubles: Pedroia (48) Triples: Crawford (10) Homers: Gonzalez (42) RBI: Gonzalez (135) BA: Crawford (.310) OBP: Youkilis (.404) SLG: Gonzalez (.580) OPS: Gonzalez (.965) SP ERA: Lester (3.14) WHIP: Lester 1.196 Wins: Lester (21) IP: Lackey (216) Strikeouts: Lester (228)
  14. Braun is a bargain with that salary. He's an elite offensive player and not as bad of a left fielder as he's made out to me. His range is pretty good and his arm is decent. The problem is his routes and reads.
  15. I got love for Tulo. I just knew he would be gone by the time my pick came up and was sort of bummed about it. It was a wise pick. In your position, I would have grabbed him as well.
  16. Nice pick. MLB may be pitcher-heavy, but true aces are few and far between. And Wainwright for under 5 million is a steal.
  17. Oh, I'm certain Cargo will regress to some degree next year. That said, he's also a 5-tool player. And I believe his home/away splits won't be so dramatic this season. There are a couple of very good left fielders left, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg.
  18. MLB is very pitcher-heavy right now. Great hitters are hard to come by in the post-steroid era.
  19. Carlos Gonzalez - LF ($406,000)
  20. The Sox will trade for another catcher before the deadline. Pedroia will have a 20/20 season. Jenks will have a few massive blowups and will not be popular with the fans. Bard will be the closer in the postseason.
  21. Longoria was an excellent first pick. Arguably the best overall third baseman in baseball and with that salary, what a bargain!
  22. I'm not saying getting Napoli was plausible. I'm merely saying I would prefer him over Salty and Tek. I also wasn't directly comparing him to V-Mart. Of course, V-Mart is better. That wasn't my point. My point is they are both s***** catchers that you can live with because of their bats.
  23. The thread was made before the 2010 season started. A lot of people look rather silly in this thread. I'm happy to say I'm not one of them.
